Hell, with the way Manny has been fighting lately, I give Floyd full credit for just clearly outpointing him. That alone will be impressive, as long as he does it in his usual style and doesn't pull a Dirrell.

He will be respected more if he beats Pacquiao and will be referred to as the best boxer in this era! That's a huge credit man!

Actually PAC is the best fighter where Floyd is the best boxer of this generation. The only way Floyd gets the kind of credit he would be deserving of is depending on how he went about fighting Manny.

Floyd is in need of a true challenge. A true test. No one doubts his skills, talent or natural gifts....they question his champions spirt, heart and mentality. B/c of how he chooses Money over everything else regarding building his legacy.

Floyd has a very good legacy.....but his talent, for all that he is and was blessed with outshines his resume and legacy by leaps and bounds. Floyd will need to fight PAC intelligently but not in a way that is borderline running. I've never seen Floyd run! But he has a way of using his speed and footwork to get the hell out of dodge whenver the thought of a "RISK" might be in the area.

Well they say a fighter has to meet and beat his nemesis to be consider great, the guy that pushes into deep waters and I think that man will be Manny.

i think they are both the yin to each others yang - that we have been waiting for. two equally talented guys- who are exactly the opposite of each other. one beloved- one hated, one humble- the other arrogant. both are athletic freaks- one who has speed and power- and amazing pinpoint athleticism bordering on martial arts- and the other also- an amazing technical fighter with all of gods boxing gifts. These are the very best of the best- forget small man - big man- they have both proven they are worthy foils for each other.
sure floyd can run and duck and fight his way to a boring UD- but by that same token pac has the speed, reflexes, awkward style and power to catch floyd and put him down- i mean he put cotto down!! and did u see how he did it?? with sneaky 1 inch punches- not with telegraphed power- which floyd can always read and counter. why couldnt pac- with his amazing in and out style - catch floyd- trust me floyd is great- but so is pac- and they have never met a boxer as good as the other yet.
i cant wait for this fight.

and heck- who says it has to be one!?! if its close or even competitive- which i m sure it will be- lets make a trilogy- this could be THE fights to save boxing.

Of course he would get big credit, pacquaio has proved by his destruction of hatton and cotto that not only is he a top level ATG fighter but he also in his prime and can fight at the higher weights. This is the fight floyd needs for his legacy and i'm pretty sure he knows that

pac beating cotto has proved that he can more than handle himself in the ring with a fully flegded welter, pac isnt just a small guy anymore he is legit at that weight! so answer to the question floyd will take alot of credit from me!!

He's going to get credit, but I don't think one fight is going to make up for all the ducking and running he's perceived to have done. He's a great talent, but now he has to prove it. He'll get credit for Pac, but if he somehow beats Pac, he'll need to beat another elite level WW either Shane or Berto to cement his legacy. Or he can take the money and run....like he's used to.

How many more naturally bigger fighters does Manny have to mow down before we can throw this out the window where he is concerned?
