Look whatever gripes you have with the list, you're right to have. When Nonito Donaire is in a top ten P4P and The Ring is predicting Floyd woulda beaten Kid Gavilan then you know to take their authority with a pinch of salt.

 

P4P spots aren't transferrable.

If Pacquiao had lost to Cotto he would possibly have dropped to #2, below Mayweather. Cotto would still have been below the likes of Marquez, Hopkins and possibly Mosley.

You earn a P4P place (or should do) by consistently beating top quality fighters - if, say, Amir Khan in the next 18 months beats.....

Exactly. Which is why Donaires placing is unjustifiable IMO. His only solid win was a few years back now.

All I'm hearing is Maidana is better than Clottey, for some reason Pacquiao's LWW title means a lot to Floyd Mayweather even though he's a WW and wouldn't fight for the LWW Ring title anyway. :huh

Bradley is a LWW. Pacquiao wants to fight welterweights because all roads lead to Floyd Mayweather. It's pretty much as simple as that.

So Maidana will throw punches. Since when has just the skill of being able to throw a punch been good enough to beat Pacquiao?

 

What I'm saying is that Clottey probably came into the fight to try and counter Pacquiao. Pacquiao's weakness is counters (see JMM), I just think Pacquiao was too quick, too good. Clottey said himself he couldn't handle Pac's speed, didn't know what to do. It's the famous saying, everyone has a gameplan til you get hit. If I had Clottey's conditioning (against bodyshots) and a good peek-a-boo high guard defense, like **** would I come out of it to go toe to toe with someone who's punches I can't even see coming. You see what happens when you try to bully and force the issue with Pacquiao in the Hatton fight. You get KTFO brutally. Ultimatley we found out Clottey wasn't good enough to beat Pacquiao, but prior to the fight he had the stuff that could potentially make it tough.

Putting Maidana in against him is just laughable and you seriously need to stop it for everyone's sanity. He would get absolutely killed. He would put up **** all fight. I said earlier you don't seem to understand a good boxer can be something other than someone who can punch. Look at Pernell Whitaker as an example, not a brilliant puncher at all but one hell of a boxer. It ain't all about punching hard.

I don't think Pacquiao gives a **** about his belts at 140 tbh. He'd happily lose them to fight Mayweather.

 

Maidana is a good boxer for someone like Khan. Actually not even that, Khan would smash him too.

Who do you rate higher? Cotto or Maidana? Because Cotto 'came to win' in your opinion, but got beaten from pillar to post.

Pacquiao surely would want the winner of Mosley/Mayweather next. No one at 140 is worth it, especially since this could be Pacquiao's last fight.
