Is a potential win over a 43 year old Hopkins worth anything, from a historical perspective?

Or is it just a payday for Joe against a faded great?

Not as much as he'd have got if he'd got off his arse and done something like this in 2000, for sure. All his own fault though.

    It's the 2nd option; a fight for a paycheck.

And I agree with Fighting Weight.

Now there's a phrase you'll probably never type again in your entire life, so enjoy it :D

None, he's British, even though B-hop is top 5 P4P, hate to say it but if Calzaghe wins, they'll say Bernard was faded, and if he loses, he's a British hype job just like Hatton who is now the most underrated fighter on ESB because he lost to the P4P #1, but then again he is British, so he must be overrated...

How couldnt it a a very credible win? It would ludacris to suggest it isnt. I credit both for making/taking the fight and will respect the winner a TON, on top of the 2 ton's I already have:D

    168 Champ vs 176(former 60) Champ- THAT's WHATS UP:good

Doesn't that pretty much say it all? Of course it will look good on his resume but not nearly as much as if it was Hopkins in his prime.

    Hopkins isn't actually a champion.

    He's Ring champ.

I see it as a cracking win.

You muppets just keep adding titles. First you say the WBo is a genuine world title and now the ring title. So there are up to five champions in each division now? great. what about the ibo? should we add that?

The thing is I wouldn't hold it against Calzaghe if he hadn't talked so much **** back in those days, he was claiming Jones and Hopkins were both scared of him back in 2000-2001 on the Tyson/Neilsen undercard. I was actually excited at the time, thinking that we had someone like Lewis who would step up his game and go for the big prizes....then he took another 6 years of **** defences against total nobodies before he suddenly decided that the guys he has been claiming are 'scared' of him for so long were actually old enough for him to take a chance with. The mans a ****, and I hope he gets his block knocked off on the 19th

Incidentally I was always a big Eubank fan and always knew he wasn't the best at his weight - but he never proclaimed himself to be, he was in it for the money and was damn entertaining with it.

    Its simple for his fans

Hopkins will be portrayed as top 10 atg..that got dominated, thats why Joe should be in the same top ATG 10 level
