How much credit will Marquez get if he beats casa?

Casa is getting by on guts and experience and he is shot and unsteady on his pins. Anyone who remebers the old Casa has to be able to see how rickety his movement has become. He is now like an old master very crafty and experienced, if you mak a mistake he will capatalize. Casa is still capable but clearly past his best days.

Despite Casa being faded, he's still world class and dangerous. If JMM can jump up to 135lbs and in his first fight take the linear crown from a crafty and smart fighter like Casa, I'll give him a lot of credit.

If he does it impressively, then he will certainly rise to #2 on my P4P list.

I don't know. Maybe not much because people might say Casamayor is old and arguably got beat by a small name fighter.

Corales; Sta Cruz and Katsidis failed in their attempt to beat the guy . . . JMM would capture another title here so I'll say . . . fairly good credit.

If he wins this . . . which I think he would . . . the next fight would be very crucial.

I'd give JMM the same credit as Pac beating DIaz. Diaz is fresher but crude fighter while Casa is a shot but very skilled fighter. JMM should win this easy unless JMM does something dumb like walking into casa's punches like katsidis did.

At least as much credit as Manny's win over David Diaz if not more.

Up in weight against a credible tough veteran slickster is impressive in any regard.

Agree. BUt it all depends on JMM's performance. A close decision will not do it.

I'm picking Casa to win this by close UD, JMM is facing the best counter puncher he has faced in his whole career in Casa, so if he were to win this fight I would give him all the praise in the world.

Santa Cruz whooped him and was robbed by the corrupt judges. Casa fought Katsidis instead of the Santa Cruz rematch and nearly got beat in that if it wasnt for Katsidis being wreckless and cheating judges casa would be 0-2 and we would all be saying he is shot to pieces. He was really really bad vs santa cruz.

you are generous man indeed! giving a ton of credit to somebody who struggled agianst sta cruz. casa is close to retirement. we all know he is a fraction of his old self. prime casa vs pac will be 50/50 chance. a generous man indeed. .

I'm gonna give him just enough credit for it since even though I expect JMM to win, I still consider Casa a very dangerous opponent even at his age.

But that's where it stops for me. I'm not gonna give him even close to a "TON" of credit for doing it. Just a nice credit.

He has to fight Guzman next. The winner gets a shot at Pac.

Quite a bit. Casamayor packs a pretty big punch. Very underrated puncher. He only needed to land one flush shot on Katsidis and he would get a KD.
Isnt Katsidis suppose to have a good chin too?
Casamyor is like Hopkins and while past his prime is still a hell of a fight for anyone. I think the Santa Cruz fight was just a fluke but what he did to Katsidis was crazy.
