Manny got old overnight, Floyd ducked him in his prime, Pac had the wrong socks on and his legs cramped, blah blah blah....

Not as big as it would have been had he fought him after the Cotto fight.

Because Manny had just defeated Miguel Cotto, one of the most fearsome fighters in the history of the welterweight division. :D

If Mayweather fought Manny right after either the Cotto, Clottey or Margarito fights, Floyd would have gotten credit for fighting a beast. But even Floyd got caught up in the hype. Floyd was scared to fight the guy who brutilized 3 different condenders that Floyd himself avoided like the plauge.
Now that Manny was made to look human again by Marquez, Floyd has apparently become braver, but credit for beating Manny will be minimized. That is , if Floyd does actually agree to fight Manny. It hasn't happened yet.
Floyd wants to have nothing but easy fights, and as long as the lemmings all flock to see him fight the carefully selected no-hopers, don't expect anything to change.

I'd take credit away from him. The more sound the beating the worse he looks in my eyes.
