How much damage has David Haye caused to British Boxing

Big damage IMO but not quite as bad as fraudley

 

Its all about Tyson Fury now & oddly there's a lot of casual love for Chisora as well.

A mate of mine described the fight as a movie fight which I thought was quite apt. Everyone loved the 10th round & dont really care about Haye & his toe.

Harrison has done more damage to British boxing image than Haye did.

DAvid Haye embodies the turn to cheap greed in boxing, away from any type of sports ethics or motivation.

 

About as much damage as he caused to Wladimir Klitschko :deal

 

I dont blame Haye for saying that at all.

He is a salesman - doing his job - not every fighter has to be as rude and disrespectul as Haye in selling a fight - but for Haye personally - thats his own obnxious personailty and style in selling a fight.

Mugs actually believe all the **** that gets spouted pre-fight - and go on that to determine how a fight will go. atsch

Regardless of what gets said before fights - 99% of the time - a fighter reverts to type - Audely Harrisons mouth and bold promises before the Haye fight and then his performance in the ring - are a classic example of this.

Haye is a small heavyweight who run from Nicola Valuev - it made sense he would do the same thing against Wlad - it also made sense Wlad all around wuld be to all around physically imposing for Haye and control the fight and all he had to do was be cautious of the odd Haye wild right hand - which Wlad did all fight long.

The fight went much as alot of people thought - boring and cautious.

Haye did his job - sell the fight - and get people to pay their money - he would make a good double glazing window salesman.

Talk is cheap - and wild talk and hype before a fight - never results in anything - but the fighter reverting to type when the opening bell sounds.

You want to look for the signs of a real war brewing - then take a fight like Benn V McCllellan - no loud shouting or talking - just a real intense bad feeling - and two proven brutal punching warriors quietly and coldly intent on destroying the other.

 

Helped bring it into the mainstream once again..... Only good from where any sane person can see it (obviously not in the ESB world)!

 

Haye is but a little spec of dust in the grand scheme of things when it comes to boxing's plight. Whether boxing floats or continues to sink, will have very little, next to nothing, to do with David Haye.

 

The influence - positive or negative that Haye has had on people's attitudes towards British boxing has been blown out of all proportion.

Numerous fans watched Haye vs Harrison then were suckered in again for Haye vs Wlad and you can see they aren't happy bunnies to have spent £30 on some of the worst boxing in a LONG time.

 

Not as much damage as he caused to my betting account. My biggest ever bet was on that fight and his lack of devil when behind shows you the character of the man.

But I digress, I think he has damaged PPV in this country for himself. As for boxing, he i s just not importat enough to do that

Exactly. This thread was obviously started through hate for Haye. Rather than the concern of the sport. ****s like this need to get a life and move on.

Haye got the casual fans tuned into boxing, he has done good for boxing, except for some bad taste comments.
