Without Don King there would have been no Rumble in the Jungle.

Don King has put on some simply brilliant cards. And also has royally screwed many many fighters.

yea but the sport is pretty much controled by him or his friends so if you want anything to get done you pretty much have to go through him....

then we read about boxers like spinks working at mc'ds while ****s like this are living it up, i would shave his head and make him return all that money he screwed out of boxers :fire :fire

Parts of boxing are, you're right. Guys do deal with him all the time and not get screwed though.

Larry Holmes was quoted as saying something like "I made more money being screwed by Don King, than being treated fairly by any other promoter".

Thing is, some boxers aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. And they're gong to be taken advantage of in any walk of life. Look at Tyson.

Yes, King ****ed him over. But there's no way he should be broke.

That was an example. He's put on some great cards, with multiple title fights in one night, on the same card.

How many of those do we get now?

you got it wrong we are not argueing how smart tyson is or what he spent his money on i read he trashed over 300 mill but the point is king still ****ED him

i dont care what i throw away MY money on i just dont want someone else throwing away my money hah

tyson blew 300 mill and if king wasnt there he probably would have trashed 600 mill but its his money get what i am saying?

No. Without Don King he wouldn't have had 300 million in the first place, let alone 600.

Compare the crowds in Germany Vs. the crowds in America. Compare Calzaghe Vs. anyone in England, etc. Don King vs. Don King fighters has ruined boxing.

I don't think he has done as much damage as many people appear to think he has.

IMO guys like Arum and others are just as bad.

so what your saying is that no matter who he has ****ed, the sport of boxing is still better because of him?

i dont know maybe your right.....we'll never know because i am sure we have missed out on alot of fights because he wasnt making enough...
