Mayweather promotes himself. So does Cotto.

So how come Golden Boy promoted the event? How does it work. DO Golden Boy cover all the promotional costs. Do they earn a percentage of sales. Or are they on a flat fee.

    Whats the Deal here.

How much did Golden Boy earn from that one event.

Were Cotto and Floyd technically promoted by GBP for tht one event, even though there free agents.

    :huh

Cotto is a free agent but "Mayweather Promotions" is just GBP in disguise, all those guys (Vargas, Latimore, Caballero, Gamboa soon) are GBP fighters.

They probably made a tiny % but a huge sum of money compared to what they normally get for a fight.

    I wondered this.

And how it worked. They obviously dont want Mayweather promotions to be come too big or they'll become a competitor.

So mayweather is promoted by Golden Boy then? :huh

but how much. And who pays all the promotional figures?

So does that mean when floyd get paid £40 million we need to take into account he needs to pay out a chunk of that to Golden Boy?

    nope thats his

basically he doesn't necessarily work for golden boy. they are more partners when it comes to promoting fights and he lets them offer possible opponents. thats it

    From ESNews:

“Ring Kings: Mayweather vs. Cotto,” a 12-round fight for Cotto’s WBA Super
Welterweight World Championship is promoted by Mayweather Promotions, Golden Boy Promotions and Miguel Cotto Promotions. Also featured will be Canelo Alvarez vs. Sugar Shane Mosley, a 12-round fight for Alvarez’s WBC Super Welterweight World Championship which is presented in association with Canelo Promotions and Sugar Shane Mosley Promotions.

Canelo and Shane "promoted" their fight, Mayweather, Golden Boy, and Cotto promoted theirs.

It's not uncommon for more than one promotional company to promote a fight

Mayweather promomotions will represent mayweather , cotto promotions reprereset cotto, Gbp represent their fighters

They will sit down at a table and work out who gets what percentage of what money ect..

It's good for Gbp to have their fighters on a mayweather card as it is good exposure

they pay him but he allows them to get a cut from the overall ppv but not from his

so if the ppv makes 70 mil, and he gets say 30 of that, hbo get say 20 and then golden boy will get 15 and the opponent would probably get 5
