How much did shot Marquez' thrashing of Pacquiao detract from Pac vs May?

Not just any good counterpuncher would do it, but Mayweather is'nt just a good counterpuncher, he's a great boxer period.
Adaptable to situations that Pacquiao is far from in so many ways.

After Pacquiao's success at 147 lbs, Pacquiao's own team voiced it was because Pacquiao had become a better much more rounded and adaptable fighter.
The Marquez fight showed us one thing for certain. For all of Pacquiao's so called improvements, he could'nt even begin to match x's and o's with a true elite level thinking fighter.
He lost clearly to a 38 year old lightweight that while still performing at a top level, is so far from his prime.

I just put more importance on lateral movement and lead foot positioning than most I suppose.
