    Bivol put a beating on Clenelo and the masochist in him said nope, no desire to KO you, I'm just gonna keep ripping you with hard shots. Bivol playing soul games with Clenelo was a sight to behold.

    Do you think we'll see slippage and cracks like post-Margarito Pac?

    "Bivolian". :lol:

    He wasn't beat up so bad. Just outboxed and slapped around a bit. I doubt he'll be significantly deteriorated on account of that L.

    If Golovkin pulls it off, any and all credit for the feat should go to him and not Bivol.

    I thought so too, but Canelo has been fighting for 16 years, 60 fights. He might be on the slide.

    It’s going to definitely mess with his fragile ego

    I think the 2 GGG fights definitely too something out of Canelo, the Bivol one too. Also the jumping around with weights can't be great for longevity.

    He's probably in the early stages of (or about to enter) a gradual slide down. I just don't think one less than devastating L is enough to assume the kind of significant deterioration that could make the difference in this bout, given that Golovkin himself is a quadragenarian.

    I think the general in boxing (unless you're a HW) is decline is essentially inevitable once you reach the age of 34 or 35. Or 15+ years pro. Whichever comes first. Canelo is chronologically still young, but in ring years not so much.

    Not much if any. Canelo took those shots very well and kept on trying for the KO. Canelo will be 100 percent ready for GGG in September. No excuses.

    Right. If Golovkin wins, he'll have earned it, and it'll be his career-defining moment, as I detailed here;

    But the likelihood is that he comes up short.

    60% of Bivol beat PRIME Canelo 11-1

    What would 100% Bivol do to him ?

    Why would Bivol only produce 60% of himself, a barely even cruise control level of performance, knowing that the house was against him and that he needed to outmaneuver and outscore Canelo as clearly as possible?

    If you're saying that Bivol fought within himself and didn't especially extend himself to put hurt on Canelo, I'd agree. But that's his fighting identity in general.

    I definitely think Clenelo was hurt a few times and I think Bivol could have gotten him out of there. Great poker face, but he could only hide so much.

    Clenelo going to the ropes and baiting Bivol was more about rest and recovery than strategy. He's very lucky Bivol didn't oblige him.

    I think he was exhausted more than hurt. With that said, a man can be stopped on exhaustion, so, yes, Bivol could potentially have closed the show if he was more inclined to go for it.
