How much did the Cotto-Margarito fight take from each other?

    Hence I said Cotto landing at will could attribute to Margo gettin sparked in the Mosely fight. Sorry if I wasnt clear in an earlier post. :good

    Many are saying Cotto took the most beating, but I disagree to a certain extent. I have always said Margarito took many shots through those first 6 rounds. Cotto's face was cut and the bleeding made him look bad, but then Margaritos was bruise and batter around the ring as well. Margarito won because of will, but physically he took the same or even more punishment than Cotto. Margarito has even stated his match against Cotto took a lot from him, affecting his performance against Mosley.

    Care to provide some proof that Margarito said this or are you just making up "facts" as you go along? :patsch

    Well, for one - the Cotto fight lasted longer than the Mosley fight so more punches were landed. Cotto never really worked Margarito's body, Shane buckled Margarito with a body shot which weakened AM later on. Cotto was fighting off the backfoot so he wasn't hitting with all his power and rather than clinching, Cotto decided to get stuck against the ropes where he was being hit too much. Mosley was planting his feet and hitting Margo at will which to me was the difference. Mosley fought the smarter fight, plant his feet, hit AM with all he could muster and clinched when necessary.

    P.S. - :hi::hi::hi::hi::hi::hi:

    I disagree.

    I just don't think Coto really hits that hard. Who has he really ever brutalized? Other than Zab, he has never even hurt a top fighter. I think his power is severely overrated.

    Mosely tagged Margarito with far fewer shots and KOd him.

    I really don't think his punch resistance was all that diminished by Cotto in one night. I would say differently if Cotto had actually stunned him, or punished him severely. But that didn't happen.

    Every fight takes something out of a boxer, especially in training where you fight for more rounds and take more punishment sometimes then in the actual fight. If the fight is a tough back and forth fight than it takes a lot more. Boxers have few yrs in them by rule, some can fight for a long time but that is if they dont take too much punishment in their careers and if they're freak of natures. But if they stay in too long they will eventually pay for it like every boxer has.
