To throw the fight.... :yep Ridiculous....he's better than Alexander in many ways yet he seemed to hold back so much....oh well congrats to Alex...he did what he had to do.
I was pulling for Eddie and not ruling out the possibility that he was charging something up until about round 8. I'm pretty disgusted right now.
I think it's the latter. Povetkin didn't start landing really clean shots to Eddie's chin until after the lethargy had set in.
I was rooting for Chambers during the first couple of rounds. By the 9th I was rooting for Povetkin to knock that lathargic bum out!
Povetkin hits hard. Eddie reminded me of Guinn. But his father said they need to cut the B-Ball and the swimming out. You know these russians eat, drink, sleep and everything else BOXING. Eddie did not throw the fight, get over it, he just lacked some drive tonight. Ps did you see his GUT.
The accumilation of punches just got to Chambers and he played it safe rather than risking getting KO'd, it happens all the time.
No, not really. Don't try to take Eddie's despicable performance and twist it into a reason to laud Alexander. Neither guy was a champ in there tonight.
he felt the power and went into the defensive mode, I though he was saving himself and I may be right but it was not for the fight
Na....Poven never even hurt the dude...maybe it's Eddies lack of desire or he was just out of shape. I kept thinking the whole fight "Eddie can easily outbox Alexander if he just pressed the action more and counter more":think often but his lazy tire holding ass did nothing.atsch Good win and effort put forth by an outclassed Alexander, the Russian just showed more heart and that's what gave him the well earned win.
besides Povetkins inability to stop most of Chambers punches, he really showed his will to win. For a heavyweight to throw close to 1000 punches is impressive to me...he was breathing heavy midway through the fight and showed what it takes. One guy had the tools to beat him and he wasn't going to allow it by just standing out in the open. Chambers wasn't (don't know if he can) punch WITH his opponent, so Povetkin kept on him on the defense as much as he could.
