How much did Vitali have left when they stopped the flight?

I've always maintained that he started strong but faded after a couple of rounds.

He was on his way to getting KTFO.

Everyone makes a big deal about Lewis plopping down on his stool after the last round, but I watched that fight live on CCTV on a bigazz projector and that didn't leave much of an impression me....

From round 3 on Vitali seemed far worse for ware, and getting beaten in the exchanges

I disagree, Vitali was completely out landing Lewis the entire fight. Throughout his entire career Vitali has shown that he can keep the same paste for 12 rounds. He had a lot left by the time of the stoppage, but it was a pretty bad cut so there shouldn’t be much controversy there.

Would likely recover, although I wouldn't be surprise if Lewis broke him either. That uppercut — it should have taken his head clean off.

A couple more rounds and Lennox would have peeled off his face and made a Halloween mask of it.

That was already underway, I say a couple more rounds and Lewis puts him to sleep like Rahman

His pace had already dropped significantly, and that was BEFORE lewis started catching him flush

Vitali had plenty left in terms of stamina, the real question was whether he could see well enough to make it a fight. Clearly he was getting tagged a great deal in the later rounds and therefore I'd give him only a slim chance. Lewis was exhausted, all his gaskets had blown out, but he was the guy with the vision. A seventh round would have been interesting but it might have cost Vitali his sight or permanent facial damage. It's also possible that he could have landed a final big shot to put the gasping Lewis away but we will never know. The referee was well within his rights to stop it.

I thought Lewis was coming on too,Vitali was in front on the cards but the impression I got was Lennox had weathered the storm.

This my friend is spot on. Vitali fought well early doors but had shot his bolt, Lewis was blowing a bit but always had good in fight management except the 2 fights he took lightly.

Round 7 sees Vitalis eyeball hanging out, or Lewis rips those uppercuts in knowing the effect they had. A sustained 30 second attack from Lewis straight after the bell should show Vitali the exit door.

The fight changed when Vitali got cut before that Lewis was being dominated.

He had little left but then neither did Lewis.

The problem was not how much he had left.

The problem was that the damage to his face was becoming unsustainable.

The fight was always going to end in a cuts stoppage, even if Vitally had been given more time.
