John was offered over 100,000 to fight Lee so I assume Lee makes more than that prolly like 200k-300k

    Edit: John Duddy**

I wonder if that's enough to retire for life at 35ish

That sounds about right. . . I'd say he made around that for his two HBO fights. . .

But when he fights "tune-ups" in clubs, and what have you, in front of maybe a few hundred people, he's probably not making anymore than 5k. . Maybe 25k when he was fighting in front of a few thousand people in Ireland.

He also migght have gotten some guaranteed money when he signed with Dibella. .

Also, I heard that Emanuel Steward had to put up 200k to get Andy Lee to come over, and sign with him. . .

he lives for free with steward. . . and he doesn't seem like a big spender. .

He could easily retire for life with a few more 250k type paydays. . . Make a few investments - apartments/houses to rent out, and you're set. .

You couldn't live large or anyhing, but you could generate a steady revenue of 75ish-100k a year. . Plus the few hundred K or so you'd have in savings.

around 70-100k per fight depending on opponent - vs a ranked opponent

5-20K for a tune up vs a bum I would think

Really? I always assumed ruddy was pulling in big money fighting bums over in Madison square garden. He was a fairly big draw.

Negative. You can't live off of that. You probably make that in six to eight years just working. If he becomes a champ, you know he will blow up and then here comes the spending, money, and the entourages. Seriously, could you live off of just say one million dollars for the rest of your life. I will answer that, no. Seems like when you make more, you spend more. You know what I mean. I did not even mention a wife. Honey, I don't want that house, I want that other house and so on. Not many boxers live off there earnings. Investments, look at what happened to Vargas and all of his investments and smart players who were suppose to watch over him and his investments. I always play the devil's advocate so maybe I am totally wrong with Lee and he does well.

Also, if you break down who is going to get paid from that 100,000, Lee will end up more like making 40,000. Trainers, manager, promoters, etc.

Probably correct. - but how much of this does the fighter himself actually see? Probably less than 20%.

(Ah, Borincano beat me to it.)
