I think the familiarity thing can work both ways, more so in boxing than any other sport I can think of.

I'm Scottish/Brittish but still wanted/want to see Scott Harrison and Carl Froch get pumped purely because I'm familiar with them and didn't/don't like either of them.

I would maybe think their opponents were assholes too if I knew more about them.

my favourite two fighters are ricky hatton and manny pacquaio
if pac was fighting anyone else i would be rooting for him,but because he is fighting hatton i will be rooting for hatton, because he is english
for me its about nationality dont care what colour he is

Im not sure that at one point or another everyone that has over 1000 posts has been labeled a racist...I really is a matter of people backing fighters of thier own race..I think there is nothing wrong with that, people tend to want those that look like them to do well...On the other hand its the blind support, and biased towards other fighters that normally gets one labeled a racist. In other cases its flat out dumb statements like "I hate when two white fighters fight eachother, I would rather see whites fight people of other races"---Farmboxer

Freddy I think that your blind backing of Margo has gotten you in some hot water as of late, I never though of you as a racist, only heavily biased towards Mexican fighters...Those that most often Label others as racist are pissed because others dont think as highly of a fighter or fighters as they do... "Oh, you just hate European fighters" I dont think that its a matter of a person hating fighters from Europe as much as it is they just dont think highly of them..Its not the place they come from..I dont think that much of many fighters that are American but no one says that I just hate American fighters.

Now nationality dont play as big a role as race, seeing that many of the black european fighters dont get the love and respect that the white ones get is proof of that. for me its just sad that some people cant get pass race to understand when they are watching a great fighter no matter the race...I will admitt that its gotten alot better over the years on THIS website...Many other sites that I go to dont have as big a problem or as many blind biased posters...

    you see,
i think even before the margo think people think they already have me figured out...the margo thing is a perfect example...
if they actually took the time to watch my shows, read my posts and dig a little deeper into the case, then they would see that i'm pretty spot on about the whole thing....but instead, people choose to be tunnel visioned, believe other idiot posters (only cause at this very moment those posters are rooting for the same people as the people that dont really know me) that have spoken bad about me and all of a sudden they think they have me figured out.....it sucks, but it is what it is and i just thought i'd bring it to light to see how others feel about it.....so far, it's about 95% saying yes, and 5% saying no...
