How much do you factor in sound impact, commentary, or crowds in scoring a fight?

TS makes some good points. It's time Boxing steps into the 21st century. They should have some kind of recording equipment in the audience to measure the cheering and reactions to what happens in the ring. Seems a bit unorthodox at first but if you think about it, the crowd reacts to success. So naturally, the more cheering the more success the fighter is having. Also boxing will likely change for the better as the goal of fighters will be to excite the crowd. Boxers would throw big windmill telegraphed punches, showboat a lot more and interact with the crowd. Defense would of course evolve too. To counter attack they would dodge just slightly to avoid real damage and act as if they were hit. This would earn brownie points from the fans and steal the luster from opponents. Crowd interaction is an area that could be expanded on too. Fighters could talk during the fight directly to the fans and trash talk the fighter. Boxing as a sport, I think, would grow immensely due to emotional connection between the Boxers and the fans. Some major problems right now are the ridiculous amount of 'world' titles and promotion squabbles and the way to deal with this is to make two separate "leagues" so-to-speak where boxers compete with other peers under their banner and allows for major events where the best fighters from both face off against each other. This would make it easier for the fans to follow and inspire dedicated support due to the 'rival effect'. Wonderful World Fisticuffs and Worldwide Comeuppance Wallops have nice rings to them. Revolutionary stuff here.

Yeah, he throws a lot of clean, ineffective punches, but sometimes there are punches that would otherwise be clean and ineffective that aren't clean, because of hair product getting on them. I count those too. But I'm in the minority, maybe.
