I was just wondering what kind of money the average boxer gets starting off with. First 10 fights or so as a pro. I not talking about any olympic boxer or someone who has a world class trainer. Just someone who has a couple years in the amateurs.
A fresh pro will not go beyond 4 rounds his first several fights, he will make some where between 1 Grand to 2 depending on many factors, but on an average about 14 Hundred dollars
You will need a day job. The boxing will pay only a small amount, but at first it is more just for the love of doing it and trying to make a name for yourself and getting experience if you hope to make it big.
A typical four round fight between unknown fighters will not net you much money. Maybe $500.00 You will need a day job for sure, unless a promoter gives you a contract.
400-500 euros is NOT BAD for a nights work. If you do that, say, twice a month in a good month that's decent cash, in my book. And that's for rank begginners.
Amir khan recieved a lot more even before his first pro fight he has signed a 4 year contract with warren whcih he gets paid an annual wage, on top of what he earns from sponsorship, ticket sales and payper view subscriptions and any other bonuses.
No, I do. But really. If it's his profession, he would train those 3-4 hours a day, eat right, don't get out and get trashed etc. 500 euros I could live off for a month. Not in any luxury, but if I fought two 4 rounders a month that would be good enough money, especially for a start.
And peopel say Olympic background doesn't help much nowadays. Audley Harrison got a million for his first ten fights plus all his fights on telly!
