How much do you think boxers get affected by heavy criticism?

Example: Wlad Klit must be aware how many people laugh at his cowardly, terrified way of going about his business, and of how many regard him as a disgrace of a HW champion.

Another example off the top of my head would be Fraudley. Enough said there.

How much do you think constant ridicule and criticism hurts fighters?
And how can you think of fighters who've been affected by it more than most?

Honestly i dont know what effect it have on fighters, but if i was in Wlads shoes i would not go anywhere near these kind of forums! I would f... lose my temper:fire:p

The guy imo it prabably must have effected is Jeff Lacy! the guy was praised to be the next Tyson in the media and on forums, but got humiliated badly by Calz, and suddenly was turned into a average fighter by the same people who praised him before! it can only have a bad effect on a boxers selfconfidence!

Great example. In that vein - a fighter being hyped beyond belief only to have his whole world come crashing down, Amir Khan. But while Khan's humiliation has served to deeply motivate him to improve, Lacys annihilation completely ruined him.

I dont see how it affects anyone to be totally honest with you....Reason being, I've seen fighters use critism as a fuel of motavation...Maybe its me but I've rarely hear a fighter say they lost because of heavy criticism...(thats just my opinion)

100% depends on the particular person.

This thread ****ing sucks. You obviously didn't think about the topic, sounds like you just a thought and posted. You put up no pictures or examples of what your talking about, its been up for a while has only a few replys obviously your not good at starting or leading a discussion, you should just stick to replying to threads for a while before you start making them.

How much did that affect you?

aj415 (aka Dickhead) he gave examples!

Personally I think it has a MAJOR effect on some fighters. Boxing is based partly on confidence.
Rudyard, no boxer would ever, ever say that. You can tell some boxers are emotional types eg Cintron while others can take major and sometime unfair criticism (Khan).

The Klits have no heart or balls, especially Wlad, who has the heart of Boy George and the nutsack of a castrated man. He could care less about criticism, as long as he doesnt have to stand toe to toe, and can jab his way safety first to a V the way he did against Sultan. He is less than a man, and a disgrace to all Eastern Bloc Countries.

Oscar took it to heart, when his **** was questioned after the Trinidad fight, and fought Vargas, Mayorga and Hops all toe to toe at least.

Depends entirely on the person. Carlos Quintana didn't show his face around PR for a while after he lost to Cotto. Mainly because people thought he was a coward for wanting out in the corner.
