Well apparently this coach is the doctor of boxing (Professional coach from London TKO gym) .. i don't go to a doctor and do research on the pills he gave me to be honest. He tells me what they do and i take him for that word, which is as you said not always good.
That is the doctors profession, he's paid to know this stuff and knows more than you (in most cases). It's when "professionals" like doctors step out of their field they are clueless and say stupid, idiotic things. I was told by my doctor no person on the planet should ever do squats and lunges because they'll damage their knees to the point they won't be able to walk... Bull****. He's clueless about exercise which is out of his field of expertise. In your case you're talking about a BOXING coach. As with most of them they're clueless about human physiology, yet they'll still throw out these myths and what they think as gospel which in reality is outdated, uninformed bull****. All I'm saying is if somebody tells you something like the OP's query, don't just take the first thing you hear as being correct, do your research.
I don't believe in it, but there was a program with Chris Byrd in it debunking it that I thought was awful. Basically, these guys measured how hard he was punching when he didn't have sex, then how hard he punches the day after he had sex. They determined he punched harder after sex and therefore his boxing performance wasn't decreased but increased. Now, like I said, I don't believe in the no sex before a fight myth, but I don't see how him punching harder on a given day means the myth was scientifically debunked.
Sex increases testoterone levels in the body but not enough to cause a major difference in strength etc. The reason most boxers don't have sex during camp and build up to a fight is because A, women are distractions B, mental effect= If you aint been laid in months because your fighting a mother****er your really gona want to hurt him.
Sometimes when I bust one, it saps some of my energy (depending on how recent). Then I don't feel as aggressive. Go 3 weeks w/o busting a nut and you'll know what I mean by the aggressiveness part
I seen a silly test like this on TV. Two football teams to play a 30 minute game. Team A plays as normal, team B has sex at half time then continues the match after. By half time team A is winning 2-0. Half time comes and team B goes off and does the deed. Team B then goes on to win 4-2.
he does have a point. if you have weak legs than ****ing the night before a fight is probably not the best thing to do, especially if she is an animal. regarding jerking off, a lot of fighters turn weird before a fight. many of them get superstitious and therefore I recommend cutting out the cleaning tubes a few days before a fight. many of you are probably addicted to this type of behavior so it could be pretty tuff to accomplish. :hi:
Exactly it's more about trainers wanting two things: Focus, and extra ring aggression (seemingly from not being able to get a nut off fore 8 weeks).
eight weeks of not being able to clean the tubes seems kind of excessive. I would say at least a week before the fight should be okay.
Hmm regarding the aggression it can go the other way around as well. If you have sex whenever before a fight you can be more calm during the fight which can have its own advantages?
