Not fighting the best around will afect his legacy , too many questions.

Floyd fans will come out and say the it was Pac's , Cottos, Margo' was not that good, Fritas , Cassa' prime SSM & Oscar fault. But it is the same as a guy that gets into fights every weekend and says it is never his fault it is allways some one elses fault, but if you getting into fights every weekend , you are at fault.

    Undefeated Cotto
    Acelino Freitas
    Joel Casamayor
    Manny Pacquiao
    Antonio Margarito

What about Paul Williams and Kostya Tsu? These guys were beasts and Floyd wanted no part of them.

And yes, it hurts his standing. Floyd will be remembered like Joe Calzaghe: a very talented guy who didn't fight the best available opposition.

I think Tsyzu and Cotto are the two he should have fought. Maybe Margarito would have been a big problem but you have to throw that one out due to his scandal (glad Pacman crushed him).

Tsyzu would have made him number one at 140.
Cotto would have shown he beat arguably the next best prime ww after himself.

I think Floyd will be remembered more for his talent and brilliant defence than the opponents he faced, regardless of who he faces he will still be an ATG, his resume could be stronger though

I cant say, but putting cotto on his resume was at least good enough to where people will at least say he fought him. and doing it at 54 makes up for him not being undefeated. As far as everyone else, I cant say.

cotto was not ready at 140 for mayweather and arum fighter at the time.
joel & acelino never wanted the fight, mayweather called those guy out when he was at 130 and 135. a yr later from that he wanted the mosely's and de la hoya's. margarito was arum fighter and he just dont fight arum fighters.pacuaio well you know the story. mayweather if he not fight them he sure as hell fought a fighter that beat those guys before. he beat all there rivals. so for me no it does nothing to hurt his career.he awalys beat the man or the man that beat the man so he still beat them all in way.

To a certain degree yes. However Manny and Floyd will meet in the ring but It won't have the same glory it would of had 2 years ago.

    Of course it does.

    Mayweather's legacy at 147

    Ortiz
    Mosley
    Hatton
    Marquez
    Judah

Now swap those wins with Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Pacquiao and a Mosley who is a few years younger and how much better does his resume look.

it was impossible for him to fight Tsyzu because Tsyzu had a contract with showtime and couldn't fight any HBO fighters like Floyd, Gatti and Cotto

    Depends on who you ask:

If you ask his ******ed fanboys it doesnt matter cause he holds mythical matchups wins over all of them.

If you ask an hater like me i'll say of course it hurts his legacy and it hurts it badly.

A neutral fan would just say- well it is what it is.
