it's a no brainer. would you ratehr have floyd with his resume now ( 4 fights in the last 5 years) or would rather have him fight guys like pacquiao, cotto back in 2008, prime tszyu, prime casa, prime margarito?

No, it's not just the name, if it was just the name, why would be so many people interested to see the fight. People don't watch fights just because of names.

The fact that he is being or is considered a top 50 ATG speaks volumes in itself and he still has to ability and potential to accomplish more.....scary

How do you know Floyd is on different level to any fighters like for example vs Pac? They never fought or may never at all so most probably you based your idea on their skills level alone. Not so accurate because you will never know the outcome other than your guess. The closest thing we can do or the most logical thing to do is to measure their level base on their common opponents how they beat them.

    Cotto < Pacquiao
    Oscar < Pacquiao
    Hatton < Pacquiao
    Mosley < Pacquiao
    Marquez < Floyd

Base on the above it showed Pac is on different level than Floyd not to mention his accomplishments like his 8 divisions title, 4 lineal titles, fighter of the decade, etc....

    pac > skeleton cotto, yes
pac > skeleton granpa oscar, yes
pac > previously broken down hatton, yes
    pac > granpa shane, yes

and more importantly, pee mouth >>> poochyao

it's a no brainer, floyd whoops pac's ass easy. floyd made pee pee mouth look like an amateur while pee mouth schooled pac 3x.

Pac fought 5 years younger prime Cotto than Floyd 5 years older past prime Cotto.

Pac moved up 2 division above with just 1 fight at lightweight to boot and still made Oscar quit > Floyd SD

Pac ko Hatton in 2 in his best weight division > KO10 in Floyd best weight division

Pac knocked down grandpa 39 year old Mosley > Floyd almost knocked out by grandpa 38 year old Mosley.

Pac beat Marquez fairly in a close fight that can go either way while Floyd weight cheated Marquez to his victory!

    Cotto < Pacquiao
    Oscar < Pacquiao
    Hatton < Pacquiao
    Mosley < Pacquiao
    Marquez > Pacquiao

    Damn, you were almost there.

    ******ed *****.

    so floyd picked...

a 2008 vacation instead of a big fight against a prime cotto back in 2008.
another 2010 vacation instead of a big money fight against pacquiao.
a 2010 comeback fight against an over-hyped quitter instead of a big money fight aginst pacquiao

Yes, engineering a fake retirement while the best fighters in the sport beat up on each other in wars, then coming back from your hiatus to challenge those same fighters hurts your legacy. It's not even debatable, and unprecedented.
