Froch was speaking about making a comeback to fight Kovalev the same year Canelo knocked Kov out, it would have been suicidal of him, but this is a recent pic of him on insta, how much does he weigh in the pic and does this mean he`s still keen on a comeback at a higher weight? He is probably a good 200 pounds at least. Not sure if he would make 168 ever again but 175 is definitely not out of the question. I'm friends with an MMA fighter that is built a lot like Froch and he walks around at 200 pounds and fights at 170. Pretty much suffers to go from 180 to 170. Then again, he is also in his mid 20's. Froch is damn near my age and cutting weight and fighting in your mid 40's is a another animal. He should stay retired for sure.
A relatively high weight can be both a plus and a minus in a fight, but according to statistics, weight is not the key to victory.
Everyone is debating about his precise weight in the photo, and whether he'll come back or not (he won't). I just want to point out that it's good to see a former fighter staying fit in retirement. We see a lot of guys become drinker, drug user, they get fat and lazy after fighting. It's rare you see a guy stay fit like Froch has. Oscar Larios is another ex-fighter who is still in shape, i.e. doing triathlons etc.
I only posted him looking so much bigger because he mentioned a while back that he wanted to comeback and fight Kov at 175.
**** it. There's a lot worse fights that can be made in boxing. Kovalev is.on the way out himself anyways wouldn't mind it... Probably would happen at a catchweight somewhere between LHW and CW.
