90% 80%? How much of the lacking performance vs Ngannou was mental? How close to his best could he get at this point if he really wanted to? Tough for me to answer, his feet look slower but hes 20 lbs heavier. His headmovement on the backfoot still looks good. When he gets sloppy he gets hit with stupid shots but it was always like that vs mcdermott vs cunningham and others. Punch resistance looks weak but he keeps getting up and its always been like that. The big thing thats worrysome is his mentality. There was a moment in the second wilder knockdown in fight 3 where he looked dissappointed as if he might quit, but he gutted it out. But you can tell from his interviews that he doesnt really have the hunger anymore it seems. He keeps saying he doesnt care.
He has great size and great talent. Boxing is his second language. But frankly he is both mentally and physically compromised and eventually his size and talent will no longer save him. Of course some argue this has already happened.
