How much does it hurt the 90's era that Bowe v Lewis & Tyson didn't happen?

As somebody else said. It hurts Bowe more than anything else.

I think Bowe gets sparked by those 2.
It's one thing to block Holys punches with your face.

Another to do that against Tyson or Lewis.

 

Golota was a solid B level fighter. He'd be a decent contender in this era, maybe top 5. Too bad he fouled so much, or else he woulda been a world champ.:good

 

Should have been even past his best.

He was very unlucky not to get the bid against Byrd for the IBF, and jobbed against Ruiz for the WBA.

Byrd got a whole run of dubious decisions in his favour from memory.

 

Ruiz beat Golota by a point or so.

Not really robbed, but close.

Ruiz just fights ugly so he doesn't quickly get sympathy from the crowd

 

I would've like to vote for 2 options, the 2nd best era ever & it hugely undermined the era. Why? Bowe didn't have the nuts apparently..............

The amateur fight between Lewis & Bowe was complete B.s. Saw it recently and after an interesting first round, the ref completely screwed it. I would have loved to see a real fight between the two with a neutral ref.
