There as just as many if not more fake fans of Golovkin who have been eager to paint him as a Mayweather boogeyman as there are of Ward eager to paint him as a Golovkin boogeyman.

 

And I'm quick to call them out as idiots and fakes with an agenda.

Floyd never needed to fight Golovkin and his standing isn't affected by it whatsoever.

 

In both cases, fans just weren't going to be happy until the guy they hated got beat. Different fan bases for the most part, but the same phenomenon.

 

Ward has had nothing to do with Conte for ages BTW and was in fact one of the first or only guys to dump him primarily for PR reasons.

 

Ward's had one fight without him. The Super 6, Dawson, Rodriguez...he was there.

Strangely, he also turned down VADA testing that Conte offered to pay for in the Rodriguez fight.

 

No, Conte was advising Rodriguez for that fight. Ward stopped working with him after the Kessler fight and only used him once before that vs. Miranda.
