How much does Jones' over-reliance on a size adv effect his P4P ranking?

I think it should. The concept of P4P is to establish who has the best skills and is the best fighter taking size advantages out of the equation. Most of Jones' techniques are centred around him exploiting his height and reach advantage vs usually much smaller opponents. The teeps, oblique and low kicks are thrown at a distance that he's always in punching range vs an opponents with the same arm span. When he doesn't have these advantages, he struggles as seen in the OSP and Gus fights. I don't buy the ring rust excuse with the OSP fight, OSP's jab and reach were giving him legit problems. Gus was able to land at will because Jones couldn't fight at his preferred range without getting cracked. This is why Fedor will always rank higher for me alltime as he was beat the best in the world while overcoming a size disparity.

There are advantages and disadvantages of height. Struve isn't the heavyweight king. George Roop isn't the bantamweight king. If you can make the weight comfortably and perform then that is your weight class, simple as that. Jones has NEVER had trouble making weight and doesn't look depleted at weigh-ins. He has legit skills thats why he is the king of the division.

I think there's truth to both this and the point Foremanjab is making.

I almost made a similar thread comparing Jones always having physical advantages and Fedor having the opposite on shitdog, but the adolescent cumstains who post there are insufferable

Fedor would have fought Gus - and possibly Rumble - then moved up and targeted Stipe

And not an eyepoke or oblique kick in sight

Struve would probably be the HW king if he had the fight IQ to use his size to his advantage. Just look at what he did to Miocic during a rare time that he fought a disciplined fight behind his jab.

Sherdog is the worst mma forum on the internet, followed closely by mmamania.

It's p4p not inch for inch.

At 205 pounds you'd struggle to find anyone who beats Jones.

Rua, Silva and Lidell in a row might mean he drops one to a big punch, aside from that who's gonna beat him? No grappler that's for sure.

I think he has a good chance. 55/45 in Jones favor.

Lets not sugarcoat this, Bones beats Liddell, Couture, Tito, Rampage, both Silva's etc who were all excellent champions. The guy is a freak of nature and should be celebrated.
