lol, I think calling him a D level boxer may have been even too generous. Then again, I guess he does look that uncoordinated because of his size, maybe its not possible for a 320lb man to have perfect form... Then again, guys at NBA still have very good athleticsm and their giants.

Thats why i give guys like Wlad a lot of credit, for very big guys, they can manoueve very well.

At 6ft 220 I'll knock pacman out cold! I'm certain if I get a clean punch I could knock either Klitchko out! I've played ball against guys 6'6 and weighed 240 and they are not as big(size) as you would think!

:deal I think the style the bigger guy is using has to do alot with it as well of that of the smaller guy. I think fighters like Pacquiao, Gamboa, Caballero, Floyd, Rigondueox, Calderon, etc have what it takes to take out bigger competition and by that I mean either schooling them or stopping them. Duran, RJ, Toney, Whitaker are all great examples of fighters in the past beating much bigger, stronger fighters.

well case closed. you shouldve replied days ago before i did and saved me time for thinking that i could last anytime at all. well i guess i'll go back to just wishing i could run a guy into a shot that is bigger than me....only if i had training.

or is it possible that on some world you have boxers that can go pro with minimal training and end up doing quite well for themselves. maybe even winning a couple of fights because they have natural talent and attributes.

then comes along training. it takes that guy with those attributes and makes him into something amazing at at least capable of winning.

its never a safe thing to assume anyone is just a slouch and respect goes a long way in the ring.

But it also depends on if the smaller man who is skilled is a puncher.

Duran is a good example of a guy who could beat plenty of big relatively unskilled guys.

However, some of the big skilled guys like Hagler, beat him, but Hagler was supremely skilled himself AND had a size advantage.

A lot of bigger guys really can't fight.

Look at Shaq vs De La Hoya.

I think it's just the confidence they get due to size alone, thinkin that they can throw, but a lot of times, you got a big dude and they can't punch for **** and cuz of their size they tend to be really slow. But nobody ever really challenged them cuz they scared cuz they see a big dude in front of them.

Honestly, if you a big dude and you can't punch and you just got average speed, you just a big target, and you better have a good chin.

Being honest, I have a harder time with the smaller, quicker guys then I do with the bigger guys.

Most larger opponents (middleweights) tend to want to mix it up with me more, which goes to my advantage.

The smaller ones tend to test my accuracy and timing more since they are much less of a target to hit.

However, here is where size makes a difference.

I have a featherweight at my gym who is definitely more skilled than me, and faster. His power is good for a featherweight but I can walk through his shots easily, even when they're flush.

When I do land clean though, especially in succession, it usually puts him on ***** street or flat on his ass.

Whereas the larger guys (middleweights) will take my shots abit better, since they are used to feeling that sort of power.

Albeit rare, not many featherweights have middleweight power, nor could they take a shot from a legit middleweight puncher.

Just IMO however, I could be proven wrong many times over.

Put Vitali or Vlad in the ring with Dirrell and you will find out how much size matters.

No way Pac would kick the crap out of any entry level Super middle he would kick the **** out of 99.9% of heavyweights. Nonito would even kick the crap out of most guys weighing over 200. Man ive seen it many times were a smaller guy with boxing experience easily handles a big man with none. Someone posted a video of some amature featherweight at Joe Goosens gym the small guy was not even a top amatuer(had a mediocre record) and totally kicks the crap out of some 230LB with no boxing skills. As a 17 year old amatuer 5-8 145 i kicked the crap out of 6-0 230lb guy who was older than me who had no boxing experience. Believe me Mrtony 80 if you have limited boxing experience at 56 145 you would get creamed by a good jr fly weight:yep Size only matters when the bigger man knows what he is doing in there.

You would never even hit him he would torture you and put you out for the count before you landed anything meaningful.

Klitschkos can beat all the fighters in the entire world not matter what weight class they are in period. The are the top dogs in boxing. Not to mention Vitali being six time world kickboxing champion both pro and amateur superheavyweight division.

Take the greatest Strawweight boxer, and the worse Heavyweight boxer, and I promise you the Heavyweight boxer will likely still win 90% of the time. That's a high percentage by the way. That should answer the size vs. skill debate.
