I've recently started doing some aerobic training after years of not doing any kind of exercise at all.

I'm not interested in doing weights but I have got myself a pull-up bar so I will train with this and do some push ups and sit ups.

I was just wondering how many times a week I should do these exercises and what number of sets and repetitions I should aim to build up to?

I wouldn't want to take it too easy but on the other hand I wouldn't want to overtrain, so I would be interested to hear some opinion on this.

for your reps just stop short of failure and try for 3 or four sets, if youre just getting back to exercise try every other day initially because of soreness, but after 2 or 3 weeks you can do work every day and use more exercises than press ups, pull ups and sit ups e.g. body squats etc

Also there is no need to worry about over training - very rare in those that exercise for leisure

Wouldn't it be better to have a day off in between?

just get lipo then or clearly on your training days you are gonna be doing more than professional athletes do and therefore need extensive rest im sorry for offering my opinion

  5. youre meant to give you're muscles atleast a 48 hr break after a workout but in boxing world its pretty much impossible to keep up progress with that program.

so make it leisure activity like someone said and just continuelly do moderate amounts on a day to day basis and with naturally a day or 2s rest here and there.

what'd i recommend is start by trying to accomplish 10. doesnt have to be in 1 set to start off with. then try 15. then goto 25. switching from pull ups to chin ups.

I used to even just go out there and jump on the chin up bar when i was bored, like in between ad breaks or when ud goto the toilet. little habits like that
