Just re-watched 2nd round of the Kalule fight and nearly all Ray`s punches in that fight were stinging shots, he seemed to punch so much harder than Floyd at LM, would this be a factor if they fought in teir respectiv primes and eras? Surely this might wear Floyd down mentally and physically, because of Ray`s timing and hand speed, also his reach would have been a factor in him landing on Floyd, many of his shots against Kalule were straight with hjis arm fully extended even with his right hand.

Leonard most likely had more force behind his punches but Mayweather is the sharper puncher.

Ray had more snap in many of his shots though, specifically at light miiddle compared to Floyd v De La Hoya.

Not really a fair comparison, Leonard was the bigger man so the best of his skills like speed, power and snap are displayed at higher weights than Mayweather. Mayweather at lightweight was a sharper puncher than Leonard at Welterweight. Leonard does punch harder though which is the question you asked.

He ought to, he was 3 modern weight divisions, and 1.5 classic weight divisions, heavier.

He punched a bit harder. Not a whole lot harder, not a teensy bit harder, but a bit harder. Do you understand?

The comparison is a bit unfair. Leonard was a natural welterweight. Mayweather was not.

I'm trying to think of a Floyd KO at any weight as spectacular as the Dave Green one and can't.

Ray was the much harder puncher h2h and p4p in my view.

I have a 1-10 scale that I rank punchers on (probably a flawed system but still).

    For an example:
    10. Julian Jackson, Earnie Shavers
    9. George Foreman, Jimmy Wilde
    8. Ron Lyle, Sonny Liston, Rocky Marciano, Tommy Hearns
    ...
    2. Maxie Rosenbloom, Sven Ottke
    1. Eric Crumble or some ****

I'd rank Floyd somewhere in the 2-3 department and Leonard somewhere in the 4-5 department

At 147 lbs, Ray was the much harder puncher. True, he was naturally bigger.

Floyd would be in big trouble against Hearns and Leonard at 147 lbs because he couldn't get their respect with his punches. Plus he isn't busy at all at that weight. Shoulder roll and pot shotting would not work well against them.

I`d rate Hearns up there with Jackson and Ray higher than 4-5, his KO over boy Green was awesome.

His performances against Leonard and Hagler are less than impressive
