According to compubox they landed the same number of punches (the first time this has happened since compubox was invented) but the most important thing to look at is not the fighter Cotto is (a scary pressure power puncher) but the game plan he used that night, which was to box. Cotto gets accolades for his choice to box effectively with Mosley, but this was not Ali Frazier or Gatti Ward, it was more of a competitive battle fought in a boxer puncher style vs balls to the wall brawling letting it al hang out. Both fighters used their brains as well as their skills. Before that we had not seen Cotto adapt, not saying he did not hit Mosley with flush power shots, but permanent damage? I think not. Your thinking of the Zale Graziano's or the Hagler Mugabi type of fights.
