Just shows what a joke boxing has become a B level domestic fighter getting a shot at a legit HW title which was once the pinnacle of this sport. Good luck to Alex he wil get good coin and bashed up for it.

Fair enough opinions all over the world are pretty much the same, Here is what have to say, I admit Alex Leapi has pretty much has a 1-1,000000 chance to win, He made it on his own back he didn't have the backers like Mundine, Green and Geale he has made on his own back and picked up support on the way... wether he gets Ko'd early and hurt or puts in a "Lion Heart" effort he will be a winner... I just think that him being a aussie we sould support him regarldless..and hope he drops Klitschko....when will we eva have a aussie fighting for the heavyweight title ??? so y diss him ???

What you have to remember is Alex Leapai is the WBO mandatory so he is entitled to 25% split of the purse.

The thing is the winner Klitschko-Leapai has a mandatory with the IBF in Kubrat Pulev waiting so that has to be taking into consideration as well.

Wladimir has likely agreed a deal with Leapai where there is a rematch clause in the contract in case he gets beat because the last thing Wladimir would want is Leapai moving onto the Pulev with the lineal title. But seeing as Leapai is the mandatory he isn't obligated to give Wlad a rematch so Klitschko will need to offer him more money to have a rematch clause in the contract.

Alex Leapai will be getting plenty that's for sure and if he is a sensible guy when it comes to money he will be set-up for life after this.. And good for him.

he calls Australia home, his family is here and his whole career has been based in Australia, everything he has gained from boxing has been in Australia, just because he was born in Somoa doesn't make him any less of a Aussie, it makes him more of a aussie than Darchinyan, Tyzu, and others fighters who have claimed to have called Australia home at 1 stage, Tyzu no longer calls Australia home and Darchinyan no longer fights or calls Australia home. we should be supporting Leapi regarldless of possible outcome and his heritage which is just plain silly considering Australia's past and current fighters.

Fair enough, I personally have a different take on it and that included KT and Vic as well. I don't consider Kevin Pieterson a pom either.... But hey that's just me

There was an article in the herald sun a few weeks ago that Alex will earn the highest purse ever for an Australian fighter eclipsing the 5 million KT made against Hatton ROFLMAO:patsch
Couple of days later they said Noel had agree to terms with Klitchko and that Alex's payday was 1.2 mil.
