Did the fight in Canada early in his career get beemed back to Australia on PPV? That's the only fight i can think of that possibly hasn't been on Main event PPV. Clear this up Ty
didnt he pay shannan around 120k? and i cant see him going 50/50 with anyone so youd have to assume somewhere around the 300 to 500k mark
he made alot of money i know that, heard hamden got paid close to 200k for that fight hence hamdan always praising mundine for revitilising his career, against wood the rematch would of done big numbers and as wood said (anthony made him a millionaire)
His currency has probably never been lower than it is right now. It will be interesting to see whether he can create any interest in the US. He'll need to do a lot more than beat Bronco McCart to achieve that.
He will create zero interest in the US! Boxing is battling sport over there with alleged big names like Andre Ward, Chad Dawson and even Bernard Hopkins struggling to sell 3,000 tickets in once boxing strongholds. Mundine is competing in the same city with the Khan v Garcia fight on the biggest network for boxing HBO (apparently jack **** tickets have been sold for this as well) whilst he is on the little heard of Wealth TV and PPV no less. If Morales v Maidana did less than 50K PPVs and Hopkins v Dawson did less than 20K PPVs on a major platform like HBO then I would say Mundine would be lvery ****ing lucky to do 1k PPVs over there. It will be interesting to see if Mundine's fight draws more than 100 paying customers. It is going down at the Palms Casino (which is a dingy shithole) and I would suspect every person who walks into the joint will get a freebie but I seriously doubt there will be more than a handful of actual paying customers. A word of warning to any dopey ****s over here contemplating order this steaming ass load on Main Event. Wealth TV's production values, camerawork and lighting are ****ing atrocious. It is amateur hour! Buyer beware! In a nutshell, it has major ****ing flop written all over it!
How did Hamden get that much money? Do you know how many people were in the crowd and what the pay per view numbers were. Still can't fathom how much money Mundine is making even with the poor quality of opposition. No wonder he stayed in Australia, making more money here than he ever would in the States. Have to say looks like U.S boxing fans are a bit smarter than the Aussies ones. Got the feeling Hamden would have not made more than $30,000 on any of his other fights no wonder he loves Mundine!
I know for fact mundine gets 80cents from each dollar from main event.each house that buys it pays $50-$60 for it each pub/club pays $1200 do the math. I believe he about $1m for Gerard Zoes which was 400k more than his St George contract. Since Green the numbers gave fallen alot. But everyone of his fights has been on ppv he has cleaned up. Also he pays all under card fighters in tickets even his sparing partners. So only has management and training fees to come out of his sizable purse.
yep it was on mainevent. @Happy Slap, ur figures with hamdan are correct, the most he made before the Mundine fight was 30k in Germany against Arthur Abraham and around the same figure in Canada against Otis Grant. He was one of Mundines sparring partners and Mundines muslim brother so Mundine threw the dog a bone and as a result Hamdan was over paid, thus he was carrying on like a spoilt brat when he didnt get his 2nd shot at Mundine from the contender series, he knew it was his last shot at a big pay day. hamdan didnt get 200k fighting Mundine it was more like 120-150k. In comparision when Hamdan was fighting on Mundines undercard on the Siaca fight he earned 12k and that was only because he sold a tone of tickets and got some bonus money from the ticket sales as a result. Mundine didnt pay him a red cent, he paid him in tickets with the option of selling more tickets to make more money giving him a percentage of each ticket sold after he sold his 4k worth of tickets initally. From that money hamdan also had to pay his opponent whom at the time was Wood Chopper Wyborn.
That was his first fight! I wonder if any other pro boxer got that much money for their first fight. I have to give him credit for the amount of money he's made from just fighting in Australia and against mostly b-c grade fighters. Not even sure if Mayweather is such a savvy business man least his fighters are well known A-level fighters. There would be so many better boxers in the U.S and around the world who get paid far less than he does. While he is deluded (calling himself the world's greatest athlete, Rugby League dosent count on the world stage sorry fellas!) his has probaly made the smartest decision ever by going into boxing and in the end its not him who's stupid its all those people paying to watch the fights. By the way does anyone think he really believes himself when he says he is the world's greatest athlete or does he just say it to stir people. he does realize that 95% of the World's population don't know who he is right? People around the world know past sports stars like Ali, Tyson, Ray Leonard, Pele, Maradona, Michael Jordan and current ones like Messi, Usain Bolt, Floyd Mayweather, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant. Does he really think he's better and more well known than those guys. Is he really this deluded or is it a gimick to sell tickets many of his fans on twitter believe him though. People always say a lot Americans in the south are dumb but i think the people of West Sydney may have set the bar lower. Done very well fore himself though must admit. And i just guessed that Hamden figure of $30,000.
He is laughing all the way to the bank. Also when he fought Green he had $5m garuntee but ended up with more like $12m because the ppv sales exceeded expectations and even did well in Singapore, Malaysia and NZ. Green had a $3m garuntee but ended up with over $5m. Not bad for domestic fight.
