WTF is this board coming to when a guy gets his a$$ kicked and his opponent that is easily outpointing him negates his entire attack AND people scream fixed fight?atschatschatsch
Dude, I have watched thousands of fights and probably at least 15 of Angulo's pro fights. Nobody is saying angulo is a slick boxer/mover but the guy has huge power and in the fight with Canelo he just pitty patted all night. Maybe he was pissed at the ref because he wanted to go the distance, who knows. One thing for sure, that was not an effort to win by Angulo. Just keep burying your head in the sand even though what you saw from Angulo defies previous outings by him.
As weird as it sounds perhaps Angulo although possibly taking money to lose also felt it would look better if he went the distance, maybe get one or two shots in. You know so it's not so ****ing obvious that he was not there to win, instead of just taking a dive.
Look, if it was a fixed fight, why would Angulo voluntarily take a beating of a life time? Does that make any sense to you? If you're taking a dive, you go down after a few good shots and call it a day. You don't go out there and get the **** beat outta you. Admittedly, I thought Mayweather vs Alvarez was a fixed fight because that's what a fixed fight tends to look like. However, I now believe Mayweather is just that skilled. Additionally, Canelo fought the wrong fight in trying to outbox Mayweather. Put Canelo in with the winner of Cotto and Martinez and Kirkland and Lara or one of those three, but probably Kirkland who is a monster, then stick him back in with a rematch with Mayweather. He might be ready at that point.
"Hey Canelo we're gonna set you up with Angulo next, kid has no defense and you'll tee off on that guy and look great." "Sounds good but can we hook him up with more to take shots and make me look even better?" "But Saul, the guy is a punching bag why give him more money? I thought that was the whole point of picking a no defense fighter for you? "Just give him more dammit! This all makes sense in my head and I just want it done."
It's not Angulo's style that's being talked about, it's the fact that he went from a dude with massive power in his hands to someone who couldn't break the skin off a rice custard! Not one shot of his had 'bad' intentions on it. Fixed fight is a bit bizarre considering the punishment he took, however the dude doe's wear a dog collar for ****s sake! His performance was totally messed up, there has to be a reason for it? The way he fought he wouldn't have beaten any top 30 fighter in the division.
