Lets break this down a bit.

The last PPV's not involving Floyd, Canelo, Cotto or Pacquiao all did under 200k. Both Canelo and Cotto also needed a strong partner to break 500k.
But, there is a strong possibility that Wilder-Fury does break 400k. It remains to be seen how well they promote it.

Fury has headlined only 1 PPV in the U.K. Which did 500k. So there is a possibility that this might do similar numbers.

But a gate of 20 million? That is just wishful thinking. It would be the 4th highest gate. This from Wilder who has had a hard time selling out smaller venues. And Fury himself is no bonafide ticket salesmen.

Divide those numbers by 4 or 5 and you're onto something. AJ-Klitschko, which has AJ, a rising star, and Klitschko who was the heavyweight king at the time and a legend, did less than 1.6 million PPV buys and that was on SKY. It was also promoted like mad, they had documentaries, it was all over sky promoted channels.

You think that a fight on a BT platform is going to sell better than one on a sky platform with tons of advertisement behind it? Nonsense. AJ-Povetkin beats Wilder-Fury on UK buys by a good margin, and no-one can argue otherwise.

25 million each, MAXIMUM. I'd expect more around 15-20 million each. 80-100 million each is complete and utter fantasy. This fight hasn't had 6 months of build up like Joshua-Klitschko. It doesn't have crazy public hype and demand like Mayweather-McGregor or Mayweather-Pacquiao. It is a boxing fight, not a mega event like those I mentioned. It appeals mainly to boxing fans rather than to some of the public. That is why it won't do the insane numbers you mention.

Unless BT open their back pockets and start advertising the fight on ITV regularly or something, and pay BBC to do a documentary or whatever, this fight isn't approaching anywhere near 1.6 million in the UK.

I think if they did 300K on both sides of the pond they would be delighted.

Fury is fighting on undercards and Wilder struggles to fill a town hall. I have no idea where these numbers come from. Niether guy really appeals to casuals outside their hardcore fan bases and neither has invested in any sort of platform to launch from. Relying on WWE antics doesnt get you far, and inviting the internet fan club to get in on some you tube videos while they play fight doesnt fool anyone. They will be lucky if they make as much as Whyte and Parker did in their last fight, and this is why there is non disclosure agreement in regards to their pay..

You have the 2 biggest mouths in the heavyweight division fighting each other, believe me, if either of them were making any real money, you would be hearing about it, not non disclosure agreements stating everyone must be hush hush. Simply stating random astronomical figures and money without any logic, reason or facts, you dont need to be on any payroll to know thats just plum dumb and non sensical.

Most boxing fans watch heavyweight championship fights and not all heavyweight fans watch the smaller divisions, most guys who watched Canelo vs GGG will also watch Wilder vs Fury.

Wilder had a viewership of 1.2 million people in his last fight against Ortiz, a considerable amount of those people is willing to pay for his next fight, add to that Wilder will fight against Fury who is more known in the US and can build up the fight together with Wilder unlike Luis Ortiz.

Heavyweight championship fights will almost always sell better than any other fights, i won't be surprised if this fight does even better numbers, i was already lowballing with the PPV numbers in the UK, a lot of people will be very surprised about the numbers they will make.

People in the US weren't interested in the heavyweight division for years because they had no champion and the
Klitschko era was horrendous, i can't remember the last heavyweight PPV.

Has nothing to do with that fight though.

    Golovkin:
    Wade - 1.3
    Monroe - 1.3
    Rubio - 1.3
    Stevens - 1.4

Yet his highly expected PPV showdowns with Jacobs and Lemieux both sold less than 200k.

Cotto vs Rodriguez did the biggest ratings on cable in 2013 with 1.5. Yet his big showdown with Martinez only sold 350k.

And just because Canelo vs. Golovkin was a smash hit, doesn't mean Fury-Wilder will also be. Heavyweights tend to get better ratings, but not by drastic margins.

Lewis-Tyson was the last heavyweight PPV to sell over 1mil.
    The last PPV's that came close to 500k were Manny-Rios in 2013, Chavez Jr.-Martinez 2012 and Alvarez-Khan in 2016.
The 500k mark is ridiculously hard to crack.

    So what ?

The heavyweight landscape is completely different now and they have a champion in Deontay Wilder who gets more popular every day.

I make a ban bet with you that this fight sells at least 400k PPVs in the US if you want to.
