he was hiding from the law if i can remember it right. prior to that, he was stripped of his boxing license earlier. when he re applied it, it was denied. he end up selling soup in the streets. that was his sad story
History lesson: when pac fought him. torrecampo was regarded as the best light flyweight in the country. pac was a young up and comer fighter. Pac's athletisicm was already there, minus his power. he doesn't have that vaunted power he has when he moved to super bantam weight. back then he was just an "accumulation of blow" puncher. according to torrecampo himself, in the fight. he was really eating leather with manny. he said, the ratio was 1:7. that is if he lands 1 punch, manny lands 7 punches. but he said noticed something in manny, which manny does always and doesn't even change. he noticed that when pac throws his jab, and when it lands, he open up and follow it with a flurry. he took advantage of it. when he threw the jab. torrecampo threw his power left punch. the punch was so strong that after it hit manny's face, the punch continued to manny's chest that suddenly looked like a body punch in real time (and that's not noticeable in real time, only in replay) PS: and according to ronnie nathanielz, pacquiao was 1 lb over the limit of the stipulated 111lbs. as a consequence, he has to wear an 8 ounce gloves
Heres how if your so serious with it (all in peso) You need at least 1 M prize money to whoever can point where hes hide out now (some say he is in south of nergros island in phils); Another 500 thou for the authorities to capture him alive w/o no harm; Another 500 THOUS for the lawyers and judges for the speedy trial in court assuring he will be relesed innocent; Around 300 thou for the settlement of his case to the families of truck driver; 10 thou for activation of his boxing license; 5 thou to compensate his damage street vending goods; estimated 2,315,000.00 which means around 51,444.44 in dollar
Looks like a body shot to me, at any speed. In fact it looks like a low blow, but maybe just on the waistline. Anyway, it had something of some upward trajectory while hitting his body, so I really don't think it originally hit his face.
you wouldn't be dazed if it's a body shot. normally, when a body shot hurts you, you'll be crying in vain (like some of cotto's victims and DLH on hop). at this, pacquiao wasn't moving and clearly dazed
It was a punch to the chin. Trust me. And borj, I dont think Torrecampo was considered as the best Filipino fighter in that division, at that time. Not a "bum", but also not the number 1 guy.
yeah, i really don't know i just heard that somewhere in a documentary program. they also interviewed torrecampo there
How about JMM the stalker vs Torrecampo the child molester instead, just to get Manny's attention? And perhaps, he will agree to a rematch.
Recently . I saw a a better slomo clip of the punch, it was on the face first then extended to tho body bro
