I lost $250. It was one of those rare fights where I bet on one man, but want the other man to win for different reasons (other than money). Wilder is from my home state, so I wanted him to win the fight, but took the value of Stiverne to win because Deontay was unproven and I thought there was a decent chance for an upset. I did hedge the play, but Wilder didn't get the KO at all, much less in the rounds I picked, so the hedge failed too. I didn't expect Stiverne to come in there and shell up like that. I thought he'd open up more and one guy would get caught in the earlier rounds. Overall, I'm glad I lost. It's good to see a fellow Alabamian as champion. Hopefully he doesn't take Klitchko too soon because I think this version of Wilder would be beaten badly. He needs some more experience and has things to improve before stepping up to the champ of the division.
lost no real money, cause I don't bet... certainly not when 2 unproven heavies go at it. but I lost a sh*tload of vcash because I had never predicted this to go the distance. And some on Stivvy
I don't bet but if I did this was not a fight to put money on. While I picked Stiverne I always thought Wilder had a chance, the talent was there we just hadn't seen him tested and there were serious concerns about his chin. When a fight can end either way via KO it's not a wise fight to put money on.
I went all in in the under, plus 150 vcash on Stiverne. Neither of the two happened, in spite of everything suggesting it was the inevitable outcome. Such is boxing  Edit: and as others says, this wasn't the fight to bet real moneys on. Many people got robbed with the Scott dive.
I didn't bet, but I sure as heck would've lost money had I did... and gone with Stiverne by KO. Towards the end of the day Friday, I began to feel that the fight was a toss-up. I got it wrong, mostly because I hadn't seen any prior evidence to believe that Wilder could go past 8 without falling into a trap. He ended up going the full 12, taking some good shots (while never wobbling), and being too much for Stiverne. Hopefully his team keeps building him up wisely. This fight showed his raw potential more than any of his KO victories, imo.
If you don't gamble, why the hell are you posting in this thread. This is a waste of space that could have been given to a poster who did bet. I won $100.00 real cash betting on Wilder
