how much more would calzaghe have to do to get the respect he deserves?

Not bigging M Veit, but he cant be as bad as you make out when hes got a win over Lock, Brewer and Braehmer, but just a point all of Veits losses have only been to world champions or people who went on to become world champs
I dont know, you tell me?
We know that Ottke wasnt interested and with the other champs, they tended to come and go a bit, before Kessler

Froch deserved his shot, but you cant have it all ways, Calzaghe went up to LHW and beat the Ring LHW champ Hopkins (who I wouldnt bet against beating Froch now), in his first fight at a new division, it was either Froch or Hopkins, if Joe beat Froch which I dont doubt he would of im sure you would be saying now that Froch was green and why didnt he fight a elite fighter like Hopkins. You answer
Same as I said earlier, the difference is Calzaghe got up to win, something alot of other so called greats havent been able to do

You can pick and choose through different ratings at different times but still Ottke, has wins over G Johnson, Mundine, Brewer, Mitchell, Larson, Markussen, Reid etc who in the super 6 besides Kessler has a better overall resume than Ottke?
Beyer - a 3 time WBC champ, who holds wins D Green, Woodhall, Sheika, Lucas, sure Beyer had his losses but, who in the super 6 again besides Kessler has a better overall resume.
Lacy - We know about what happend to him, but before Calzaghe exposed him he was highly touted and was favourite to beat Calzaghe so would probably if he was around now be favoured over Dirrell, Green, Bute, AA and Froch (I am talking Lacy pre Calzaghe, he was claimed as the new mini Tyson). Remember Lacy has done more in his career than Green and Dirrell in the Super 6.
Reid - was a fighter that had very uneven performances but think Reid was a WBC champ, some felt he deserved a victory against the best SMW ever (not me) and others felt he deserved victory against Ottke, another highly accomplished SMW. If Reid had of been awarded those 2 decisions he would of won WBC WBA IBF & WBO Titles and has done more in his career than Dirrell, Green & AA (the SMW version). Reid even has a victory over B Magee who now holds the European title
Calzaghe - more accomplished than any of the super 6 no question
Pudwill - Im sure this must be sarcasm but still he had already been elidgable to contest a world title before getting a shot as a late sub against Calzaghe

So no there wasnt the glamour names in the SMW that the super 6 has created but I cant see it as any weaker with the names Beyer, Ottke, Reid and Calzaghe

And????? Its a new tournament, but still unifications happend as proven by Calzaghe and Ottke, the only difference is theres 2 belts in the super 6 but Calzaghe won WBO WBA WBC IBF & Ring

The point that if for example Ward won his big win will probably be Kessler, who Calzaghe has beaten, when he was undefeated.
    Calzaghes done both

No just when he pulled away after
Kesslers fighting in straight lines and not fighting well off the back foot, when under pressure
A bit similar, as Ward said he watched the Calzaghe fight and saw things he could use :good

There are extremists on both sides of the argument. Again, I don't know why Calzaghe draws such wide ranging opinions or why it generates such debate, but to me this post some it up fairly nicely.........

Tell everyone more about the epic battles Joe engaged in with Veit, Lacy, Pudwell, and the corpse of Jones. Remember his battle with the accomplished 154 pound journeyman Evens Ashira? Joe is the gutsyest man in sports for at least the last 100 years. Joe you will be missed! You are truly a legend in your own mind! Joe has had battles with coke boogers that were as dangerous as some of these "defenses".
