bang on but maybe not in the way you intended. the hate of those who dislike calzaghe is blinding them, same as the ignorance of those who love him. calzaghe has a lot of people on the extremes of both sides and there's some silly stuff being thrown around here.

If this thread is any indication of what expectations British fans have its no wonder there are so many bull**** "title" fights that sell out in GB. Like I said pages ago, many fight fans in GB are so drunk and stupid they don't know the difference between a quality competitive fight and a waste of time throw away fight. Why is it a surprise they can't score a fight well enough to spot an obvious robbery.

Hopkins was at middleweight in 2002 and that's when Calzaghe tried to fight him. Any argument that says Calzaghe 'waited until 2008' to fight Hopkins straight away has no credibility. Calzaghe wanted the fight in 2002. Showtime wanted the fight in 2002. Frank Warren wanted the fight in 2002. Hopkins was the one who waited until 2008.
