Calzaghe should have tested himself against the best. He could have fought Roy Jones somewhere between 2000 - 2002.

    He could? When, specifically?

I take it you withdraw your previous comments about Hopkins?

At some time around 2000, moved up & beat the linear 175lb champion Dariusz Michalczewski in Germany, publicly label Jones a phony paper champion, then move back to 168lbs to resume his reign there.

Calzaghe did what he had to do in order to land a fight with B-Hop but Hopkins turned his back on him at the last minute. No valid excuses for Hopkins.

On the other hand, it's quite clear that Calzaghe never intended to fight Jones back in the early 2000's and it don't matter what bull**** Frank Warren feeds Euro fight fans on that one. Calzaghe wasn't willing to come to America, be given a decent challenger purse in order to try and defeat the P4P best in boxing.

At that point, Jones was on top of the hill, not Calzaghe, so it was Joe's job to make it happen on Roy's conditions.

Not attempting to post any facts at all does nicely avoid that pitfall. I've missed a few pages, did you post your idea of what Calzaghe's career might have looked like yet? Who he would have fought, how he would have realistically got those fights, what the outcome would have been, etc. It's been suggested a few times, others have made an effort, myself included, not sure if you've got around to it yet?
