Very good. You see though when you say top welter weight and you have a PACMAN avatar... are you wondering if he hits harder then PACQUIAO? not many welters left, Shane PAC Mayweather

I don't know... Pac packs a punch as well... Ortiz IMO has the same or even more punching power.... He has been knocking down everyone he has fought for the past I don't know but a couple of fights.... Someone else knows the statistic.

He was also weight drained at 140 so I wouldn't be surprised if he hits harder then PAC. Cotto, Margarito with no plaster, at 147.

Pretty big puncher. He EASILY hits harder than Margarito, and perhaps Cotto. Ortiz has one punch KO power in that left hand. I imagine his left straight is comparable to Pacquiao's in power, but Pacquiao's speed(and fighters not anticipating the punches) is where the difference lies. Not sure if he hits harder than Shane.

Interesting. I also believe he was hurting himself to get to 140 so he is stronger at WW.

His right hand throwing a hook or uppercut will make him one of the hardest punchers in the division and those divisions around him.

    Definitely...

Ortiz is big, comes in at 160+ and has a huge frame. He has one punch KO power... and he hits harder the cotto, Margo the non plaster version, shane, but WW is not hot right now... so Pac and Ortiz might be the biggest punchers there right now.. with Ortiz having the one punch KO power a little more. Who knows why he was draining himself and hurting himself the ORTIZ at 147 is a whole different animal, this is not the little kid at 140 that stuggled with Maidana... people grow up and change... ask PAC.

With the age he has now, he might grow into a bigger puncher at 154 and create some problems there even for my boy CANELO.

He definitely has power no doubt about it.

Which is why I'm looking forward to the Mayweather fight if it happens, I wanna see how Floyd reacts when Ortiz lands a few good hard shots on him, especially after his recent inactivity.

He hits hard. Neither Margarito, Cotto, nor Pacquiao has true one punch KO power at 147 but Ortiz can light a guy up with a single shot. So I'm willing to say he hits harder than all three. He doesn't quite have that all-time Tommy Hearns or Felix Trinidad kind of power though, but he hits hard enough.

I don't think Ortiz is that big of a puncher. I'd say he has fairly heavy hands which is accentuated by the shortness and compactness of his shots. If his power was as good as a lot are claiming, he should have at least been able to put away Andre Berto, who's been hurt by moderate punching cats like Luis Collazo, Carlos Quintana, David Estrada, and Cosme Rivera.
