The problem Silva has shown in the past is not using his jab enough. Silva let's people get to close to him, and he is too easy to hit. I think it'll only be a matter of time before Fedor lands a booming right hand, and probably pound a fallen Silva out. If Silva suddenly develops a jab, can avoid Fedor's overhand right, and land his own right hand; Silva will give Fedor a serous problem.
Which other version have you seen? He only has one legitimate loss to date against one of the best submissions guys i the business. That said im wary of this fight. Purely because Fedor has been inactive for a long time. He has alot of wear and tear from MMA. Plus he is also coming off a loss. I think this fight will tell us alot as to how he will be in this tourny if he does struggle with Big Foot which i can envisage.
In the lead up to the Werdum loss he didn't seem to be the same person. The talk of retirement, the slightly less honed physique, the prevading sense that he was bored with the sport and was looking forward to a quiet life. If its the same guy I could Silva outhustling him but if he's refocused and reenegerised then he's going to finished the job that Kyle started.
50%.... Fedor hasn't been fighting since.... his loss vs Werdum... And big foot is a big & strong guy...who's no joke on the ground...So who knows...If fedor gets blocked against the cage like he did vs Rogers...he'll be in a world of ****... And fedor is a big " ? " right now...'especially after his loss vs Werdum...it's gonna be a huge test...it'll be fedor's opportunity to show that he's back for good....We'll see. Personally , i'd say 50/50
Cmon! Really? Fedor got caught in a submission because he was overzealous. He was unloading on Werdum. Fedor will time Silva withing 1 minute, 2 tops. Unload on him on the ground. Silva's best option is to get hit and fall down pretending he's hurt and try to catch a submission just like Werdum did.
Fedor's focus is a bit questionable after the Werdum fight although agenst Bigfoot being overlly reckless is I'd say less likely to be punished.
Well sure...he got caught **** happens...Still , this is fedor we're talking about. It never should've happened. (and yes , i'm very aware of werdum's adcc credentials...He's actually the best BJJ artist in the HW category...) I personally believe that Antonio Silva (big foot) is a very difficult opponent. a legit contender material. Maybe not as good as Barnett or Werdum...But certainly not a walk in the park even for Emelianenko. Big foot has nothing to lose... Fedor has everything to prove after what happened last year. (well , i think he doesn't actually give a **** what his fans are expecting from him)... But no matter what happens...In the end...I'm glad that he decided to stay in this org. Because UFC's HW division is not necessarily "the" best right now. It only took a matter of months to change the situation....
