How much of a chance do you have Jermell Charlo upsetting Canelo?

What does weight have to do with a fighter's power punching? "But there's weight classes for a reason". Jermell is a bigger more explosive puncher than BJS, Plant, Callum Smith. Of course natural SMWs carry more power due to the weight, but they don't punch in the way Jermell punches. Jermell is a seek and destroy puncher, he knows how to load up with looping punches and land damaging blows at odd and unpredictable angles. BJS, Plant, or Callum Smith do not land the kind of explosive punches that Jermell does. Don't get me wrong, Callum Smith has power, but when Canelo fought him he did not load up with and attempt to hurt Canelo in the way that Jermell can and will.

So I ask you again, who is a bigger puncher at 168 that Canelo has faced? GGG was a bigger puncher in his PRIME, but when he fought Canelo at SMW he was 40 years old and didn't have the same power he had in his prime. And the evidence of that is the fact that Canelo wasn't even remotely bothered by GGG's power in the 3rd fight. In the first two fights, that was a different story, but not last September at 168. That's my point, that GGG now is not the explosive power puncher at 40/41 years old that he once was and he's no longer a threat to Canelo at 168. What happened last September made that abundantly clear. Jermell on the other hand can, he not only has power but the speed and accuracy to land big shots on Canelo. That's why he's a problem for Canelo at 168 and why GGG at 40 years old wasn't. Comprende?

I'm not mixing anything up. Jermell is a much bigger threat to Canelo as a puncher than anyone he's fought at 168. Furthermore, he's a much bigger threat to Canelo as an all around athlete with top notch conditioning, stamina, and motivation than anyone he's fought at 168.

So now your saying Canelo fought a bunch of scrubs at 168lbs, and all this time people thought he did something special. So we've went full circle. This Jermell must be a bad mofo.

Canelo looked bothered to me at times, he was borderline desperate in the last four rounds of the trilogy fight, and GGG was barely putting his foot on the gas.

There’s always a chance. Can’t put a % on it but Canelo is rightfully heavily favorited.

are you seriously comparing quality of opposition of Charlo to opposition bivol fought?
Soon they will have one mutual opponent on their resumes and charlo will have an L . Canelo will beat Charlo while bivol schooled Canelo.

    "borderline desperate"

Canelo was in complete control and cruising to an easy victory. GGG was the one behind on the cards who was the one finally showing signs of urgency in the late rounds.

No, you're either knowingly twisting what I'm saying or you're just not comprehending it.

I said Jermell is a bigger puncher than anyone he's fought at 168. He's more explosive and more dangerous as a puncher than any of the guys he's fought at 168. That doesn't mean I think Canelo fought a bunch of scrubs at 168. BJS, Plant, or Callum Smith are not scrubs, but they're not explosive punchers like Jermell is. BJS and Plant are known for being slick, well rounded boxers. They are not known as big punches. Callum Smith was known mostly for his toughness and durability.

So again, Jermell presents a far different skillset than anyone Canelo has fought at 168. And is a far more explosive puncher than anyone Canelo has fought at 168. Lets see if you can grasp this concept now that I've explained it to you again.

One thing for sure is that Jermell is a much better fighter than the Super Middleweight’s Canelo has been feasting on like Callum Smith and BJS that’s for sure.

Jermell is faster than Callum Smith.

Smith has spent his career fighting boxers 14-21lbs heavier than those Charlo has spent fighting. There is a positive correlation between weight and punch resistance.

    Smith's KO rate is 70%, Jermell's is 51%.

Postulating that a career 154lbs Jermell will hit harder at 168lbs than Callum Smith is not the craziest thing i have read on here, but it is in the top 2%.

bro Bivol is a 175 fighter Canelo is a former 154 fighter, Charlo even if he loses to Canelo moving UP in weight is more impressive than Bivol beating a smaller guy… Canelo/Charlo the same size Bivol/Canelo are not.
What’s more impressive Errol Spence beating teofimo Lopez at 147 or devin Haney beating Teo at 140? It’s not really a question.
