    Great post.

They're just not getting it. They think just because the u.s. is diverse that fighters don't feel it counts as homefield, forgetting about the fact that the foreign fighter is completely out of his element as well, even more so.

Also, the u.s. isn't the only nation that's different within its borders. Mexico is very different within, and so is Canada.

If the richest promoters, networks and venues were in the UK would british fighters travel?

Let me ask you this, do you think he'll get a better crowd in New Jersey, or Żywiec?

Salido vs Juanma is another example.

What was it about that fight that made it so intriguing? What was it about that fight that made Salido such a bad ass??

The fact the Salido went into Puerto Rico, big time Mexican enemies and kicked Juanmas ass in his home soil, that's what made me a fan of his.

That's what I'm talking about, not only beating Juanma, but going into enemy territory, a lions den and knocking his opponents ass out, LOVED IT.

Besides Kirkland, when has anyone seen an American do what Salido did?

Well, in days gone by, before it went mental with money, when Britain was a hotbed for boxing, yes, fighters did travel and fight abroad.

    Exactly!

An away win is worth much more.

    That's a daft question really.

Yes, it's my thread, and it's called "How much of an advantage do US fighters get?"

I didn't bring up Ademek mate.

New Jersey, they'll pay more to see him fight Chambers than the Crowd in Zywiec would.

but now you're asking a totally different question, which is not the subject of the thread. You wanted to know about American fighters and the answer is that in major fights Americans are frequently fighting "away" in America against foreign (Mexican, Polish, Phillipino, Peurto Rican, British, etc.) opposition.

Tarver knocked out Green in Australia
Cunningham whooped on Wlodarzckyk twice in Poland and got robbed once.
Paulie Malignaggi knocked out Senchenko in the Ukraine
Austin Trout took Rigoberto Alvarez's Belt from him in Jalisco, Mexico
Old man Corley ripped apart McCloskey in Belfast.

And everyone of those fights happened there for economic reasons. Most people had written Malignaggi off, Tarver was considered done and beginning fed the the "legend killer", Cunningham can't attract flies to ****, and Trout was marching across the border to fight Canelo's brother in a hometown fight.

Yeah, except American Olympians, or Winky Wright, Or Paulie Malignaggi, or American Cruiserweights, or any other fighter that bases their fighting decisions on economic reasons and not pleasing a message board.

Dirrell beat Froch in the UK but got robbed
Bradley beat Witter in the UK
Holyfield beat Valuev in Germany but got robbed

I'm not talking about a hotbed, I'm asking you what would happen if Britain was the country that had the biggest networks and promoters and held most of the major championship fights. Would british fighters travel as little as american fighters are doing now?

Don't forget about Hopkins beating up Pascal in Montreal. Ditto for Dawson against Diaconu.
