How much of a legacy boost would Wlad get if he beats Joshua?

Ah, you're back. did you notice Adam replied in the Johnson vs Flynn thread? How nice of you to leave information where the book you love to quote said the other view was Johnson was trying. HAHAHA

Wlad is 40 years old with 68 professional fights. Old by any standard in boxing. Anyone with a brain will agree with that.

This fight if it happens will either be the passing of the linear torch, or the rarest of examples where the old lion beat back the much younger, coming off his worst performance in a decade.

Aren't you the poster who said Kovalev if beats Ward won't mean much because Ward has not accomplished a lot lately?

I see a double standard here as Tarver was already beaten by Jones and Johnson. Tarver clipped Jones at age 36. Everyone knew Jones had a glass jaw.

I respect Hopkins accomplishments as an older fighter, but he did not win the Calzaghe fight.

In the end, judges Chuck Giampa (116-111) and Ted Gimza (115-112) scored the fight for Calzaghe, while judge Adalaide Byrd (114-113) scored the fight for Hopkins.

HBO's unofficial ringside judge Harold Lederman scored the bout 116-111 for Calzaghe.

According to CompuBox, Calzaghe landed more punches on Hopkins than any of his previous opponents.

I can really see this fight happening...

    Good opportunity for both fighters

I honestly can't call it because it depends so much on who answers the critics..

    Can Joshua actually box?

And can he go more than 7 rounds?

    And is Wlad past it?

Or was it just an off night?

I can see Wlad dominating the fight and winning unanimous points, with AJ hurting him in a couple rounds

As for his legacy, he cannot scratch off the Fury fight but this would help his legacy which should always be respected as he was/is a superb fighter

It depends largely on what Joshua goes on to do for himself.

If he retires straightaway, he'll be seen as a hype product and Klitschko gets almost no credit. If he goes on to become an ATG heavyweight, it could be a huge win for Wlad's legacy.

41 year old man isnt going to beat a prime like decent guy, nevermind the Josh. Remeber Wlad got outboxed by a prospect last.

Thank goodness we have Herol to give us the anti-Klitschko angle. I was getting worried he wasn't going to post.

aha so since when did being fortysomwething apply to just the Klitschkos?

no it applies to all humans. stop pretending that when I say something about the whole population of the world, its a reference to the K bros.

or, learn not to reply when u sense u are about to write something so totally stupid.

Not much of a boost unless Joshua goes on to bigger and better things, which is
    possible, I suppose.

More likely his legacy gets a kick in the balls if Joshua demolishes him and then
does nothing the rest of his career. Otherwise it would be like Marciano, the
young hungry lion, KO'ing Louis, the old lion.

Depends on what AJ makes out of his career after he loses to Wlad. Does he become a dominant champ? Tough contender? Or does he retire on his paycheck.

The thread is categorically and blatantly about Wlad. You are expecting me to debate Rocket Racoon?

Theres no need for me to ask if you are returded.

If Wlad beats Joshua, at least HerolGee will have Dino. Misery loves company.
