How much of a threat will Usyk and Gassiev be at Heavyweight?

Gassiev has nice technique, solid chin, good power (even at HW, ask the people he's fought or sparred), which is enough for a top contender at least. He can be a bit slow and predictable, but HW is full of even slower guys, he will give a good showing against anyone but Usyk or Fury.

Usyk will be right in the mix at the very top for sure.

Michael ''The Bounty'' Hunter is cleaning out the HW division one by one and via stoppage too and has already been ducked by Robo Squad who opted for his surrogate son The Mexican Oliver Hardy instead who fell victim to The Bounty Hunter via stoppage in the unpaid ranks too.

Hunter victim Behemoth Bakole just TKO'd Wach

Hunter victim Kiladze just got robbed against undefeated former top Cuban amateur behemoth Alfonso

Behemoth Ustinov got splatted by Hunter despite having 3000lbs on him

And Maldonado just got iced in 2 rounds by Hunter ie. the exact same Maldonado who the talented and highly regarded pair Oscar Rivas and Teslenko couldn't put a dent in and were taken the distance by.

Briedis has already one punched Diamond Boy Charr out cold on his face in savage HL reel fashion in what is a candidate for #1 KO of all time.

Gassiev is one of the hardest punchers in the game and has already been bashing up much bigger HWs in the gym for fun. Gassiev's power>>>Mike Hunter's and it ain't close. Go ask Wlod, Dorticos, and Lebedev about his power all of whom are very tough durable men indeed.

“The power he has shown me in the gym sparring against [heavyweights Dominic] Breazeale, Charles Martin, Gerald Washington, Chris Arreola, is very real,” Sanchez said. “All those guys, he’s been able to dominate and hurt. Once we get him to the heavyweight division and stabilize him at 225, 230, and put some muscle on those pounds, he’ll be very effective.''

Which HW's ribs did Gassiev break in sparring?

''Ask any given sparring partner who’s been in there with him and they will tell you he’s a small heavyweight who fights like a big heavyweight.

“Murat Gassiev – that motherbeeeper hits hard,” heavyweight contender Chris Arreola said of his experience while training with the Russian banger in Big Bear, California.

The two worked in the same gym space for their recent training camps. Arreola was preparing for his December 12 showdown with Travis Kauffman, a fight he won by split decision. The final outcome was disputed, but Arreola’s energy at fight’s end was attributed to the work he put in during his time in Big Bear, also crediting Gassiev as one of the fighters who pushed him in the gym.

“He caught me in the ribs during one sparring session, I just never been hit like that before,” Arreola admitted. “This was a camp I was already determined to leave as a trim and ready fighter, but I knew I couldn’t half-ass it when he was there. Whenever I saw him in the gym when I arrived, I was like “Beep, not that guy again.” But he makes you work in the gym, he makes you a better fighter.”

'Here is another endorsement. World-class cruiserweight Ola Afolabi (who has sparred both Wlad and Vitali among other HWs) proclaimed that Gassiev is a certified assassin. “Probably the hardest puncher I’ve ever been in with,” said Afolabi, a pro since 2002 and a three-time cruiserweight title challenger ranked No. 10 by THE RING.'

CW Level and Gassiev buddy and stablemate Goulamirian can move up to HW to reek havoc among the big men when he's finished his business down at CW too.

Gassiev can't afford to be too passive or defensive at HW or one of the longer, taller jab and grab guys might keep him at the end of their fists for ten rounds and end up outpointing him. He's got shades of Abraham where he'll just kind of retreat into a shell for long periods and let fighters tee off on him before exploding back with combinations (much crisper than AA's but just as sporadic). He needs to be more proactive in the HW ranks, and walk fighters down a la Golovkin. If he can land his power then anyone is going to crumble.

I've never seen Goulamirian fight before. Looks a little sloppier than Gassiev, but more aggressive, if that's an accurate enough observation from a HL video. One thing that always impresses me about these Caucasian (Armenian/Georgia/Ossetian etc) guys is how dense their musculature looks, like they're chiselled out of stone. Beterbiev has a similar look. Just crazy strong looking mofos.

Yeah it is and he's very well-built and physically strong and applies a lot of pressure and it looks like he has a very solid chin too, well at least so far it does. He hits hard but he isn't a Gassiev type puncher. However, he just looks a real nightmare to fight because he applies constant pressure and it's very hard to keep him off of you. He's just been upgraded to the Regular champ at CW by the WBA.

Gassiev is slow at cruiser and will be even slower at heavy. He has a good dig to the body but his power is incredibly overrated.
He will become a contender and nothing more

He's a bit flat footed and overly passive rather than slow. His hands are plenty fast, and he's got excellent timing.

His power is one thing which is not overrated at all. He's got serious pop.

The challenge will be landing it against men much taller and rangier than him.

This. Usyk has the experience, timing, and ring IQ to be a top fighter at heavyweight and even a champion, but Gassiev would struggle to be a top 10 heavyweight. Gassiev has a lot of potential, but unfortunately is lazy and most likely will never reach his full potential.

Yeah, that's possible. He used to blow up like crazy between fights at CW, and now that he's moved up to HW he might become a walking blob. He's still kinda got the frame size to be effective like that, but it'll impact his chances severely.

Usyk has strong chance of unifying the division (if Wilders team ever had the bottle to sign). Whilst I reckon Gassiev has potential to be a top 10 HW.

I don't have a favorite. Gassiev gets decapitated by Wilder, and outboxed by Fury. There is no future at heavyweight for the Russian Abraham.
