Im a big fan of Beterbiev and am rooting for him to win in October against Biviol, BUT the Meniscus injury could change Everything. Thats a tough injury to heal from especially when you're 39-40 years old. If he still suffers from the injury, it could end up like a Sergio Martiinez vs Cotto situation. He'll need 100% use of his leggs against someone of the caliber of Bivol.

Any way what do you guys think?

Yeah it is hard to predict because of Beterbiev's age.

I think we have to go back to ancient Roman history. Back to Emperor Claudius Biggus Meniscus Sebastianus Maniscalconius. Whose actual name included 'Emperor' but he was in fact a jester and cleaner of the public baths, specializing in retrieval of the short, coarse hair left behind by the matronly females, and others. Most servants like that don't have such large names, when you really look at how they did names back then, all fancy and stupid.

Anyways, he hurt his knee, slipping on some of the wet, matted hair from Continentia Philippa Catari Core 'Ngrata's pubis. She was very noteworthy for her attributes in Pliny The Middle's text on Roman hair history. Emperor never cleaned those baths the same again. He was tied in an enormous woolen sack with a baby elephant and a mandrill until all three were dead. No one even knows who won. They all three seemed to struggle breathlessly until the bag stopped moving. He was replaced by a younger bath cleaner who did not jester. As a jester, he was never technically replaced. There is a statue of him in the vomitorium of Caligula's pet tiger.

He looked great against Callum, but it’s always hard to tell when a fighter who’s elite will suddenly wane due to age.

Meniscus injuries that I've seen in other athletes healed fine, it's not an ACL level problem. I'm sure with his already great shape and dedication to physical therapy he'll be good as new.

Not 100% cause those days are gone once you have a knee injury at that age. Given that he keeps in good shape he should be in the 90% range which may be enough.

100% his injury is tough to get back to form. But, unlike Sergio Martinez, he doesn't use his feet and movement in the same way, although he has good foot work.

HGH is really good for repairing injuries. Fortunately, Beterbiev has a lot of natural HGH.

Even this old Beterbiev will be enough to beat Bivol.

Since both of them are on the most P4P list, he will be ranked even highter, because nobody in top 3 P4P beat anyone from that list.

The biggest issue for Artur after this injury is his propensity to overtrain, and if he does that it might do further damage - but I'd assume his team and the doctors have him on a strict regime to get him in the best possible shape he can get in for Bivol.

If he loses to Bivol it can be dismissed as a 40 year old recovering from knee surgery who would have won in his prime.

At this age, it's probably game over
