How many times per week does a boxer typically run? How many miles? And at what pace usually?

    Thanks.

I usually have the boxers run at the gym I coach at since it has a indoor track.

I do Round runs where they have to do a half mile in a run. up to 6 rounds so far.
I have sprints drills that last for about 25 minutes.
    Stair climbs about 25 minutes.
    25 minute straight jog.

Most of the boxers also go run on their own to. Usually doing various drills.

Im just an amateur so I know it probably cant compare to a pros workout or anything, but, I run about 5 times a week, 3 miles, in about 20 minutes. I also weight lift and do boxing fight class' though. Then I also throw some other stuff in my run to. Like Ill run side ways and back wards for a certain distance, and Ill do 40 pushups when I start, turn around, and end.

Well most gyms are open anywhere from 3 to 6 days a week. So do the math.

jog - slower pace to get to the end without stopping to rest.
sprint - run as fast as you can for the duration.

that round thing is pace is in between sprinting and a jogging pace.

i usually run 3 or 4 times a week. im an amatuer. i started of doing 6km runs at different speeds depending how i felt. For example 1 time i may jog 6km, then the next time run it as fast as i can. Im up to doing 10km now. chuck in a day or 2 of sprints and hats plenty for now.

    so 2 long runs
    2 sprints for the week.

once you do this for a while you will know for yourself whether to run more, further, harder or less

when you do a long run time yourself, next time you run it hard try to beat that time or get as close to it as you can.

make sure you do sprints aswell, short and sharp, that really improves your fitness.

    good luck

if you are just starting to run build up into running or run on a treadmill, you want to avoid getting shin splints

I don't know the exact medical definition but I get them. Basically your shin bones get aggravated from excessive running. I get pains along the inside of my shins that hurts to the touch as well as during the pounding of a jog. They can hurt even more once you stop running. In extreme cases they can make it very difficult to run.
