just wondering how much power you can add to your punches by perfecting your technique

iv always wondered and i imagine it would be somewhere between 40-60% more punching power though this is a complete guess

The overhand right from Butterbean is probably the single most powerful punch in boxing if it landed clean on your chin.

With an overhand your whole bodyweight would be behind the punch, and Butterbean had rather quick hands...
Anybody with some kind of skills wouldn't get hit, but to those who got (Bart Gunn, Louis Monaco, they went down in round 1)

Not everyone will be able to throw with proper technique, I think its genetics on whether some one picks it up or not and does it perfectly with all there body weight thrown in my opinion. For example, bradleys punching technique is quite bad, there's a video of the hitman teaching him to throw a hook and ended up throwing a much more powerful hook.

More power with proper technique, as you get force from you legs putting your body through the punch

these are great examples but has there ever been a definitive answer to the thread question?

i understand the overhand right is the most powerful punch in boxing because of the "ball and chain" mechanic

Everyone has a different ceiling, but with proper instruction and practice, anyone can punch hard enough.
