How much respect do British fighters get in America?

    The specific question was if any of the British fighters are household names in the US. That is different than how British fighters are viewed by US boxing fans.
    As far as the typical American household, the only recognizable name would be Lewis. The others would get little recognition- except for Haye- who no one would recognize.

    In what dreams is Chad Dawson a superstar? He has no name recognition whatsoever. Calzaghe is more well known and respected than he is.

    :good yeah because naz can use that style to great effect unlike witter who likes spoiling the fight.

    Hell, from my experience even American fighters don't get much respect in America. Criticism and complaint is an American pastime.

    The complaint and ridicule really goes off the chart when the nationalist fight fans start spewing their idolatry of home grown heroes across the ponds.

    Americans in general seem to love bashing everything, even their own.
