How much stock do you put into "official" results versus who you think won the fight?

    The way I see it:

    You got your own feelings about winning a fight. They are valid, you're a fan. But it don't always fit. For example, judges don't score rounds equal. So in the sport of boxing tactics have been developed by fighters to win those rounds, flashy flurries, pretending not to be hurt, and coming on strong at the end of the round. This is one example of a factor that can determine a fight which boxers are aware of, judges are aware of, but YOU might not be aware of.

    The job of the fighters is to win, but KO or by points. Under the points system, they have to impress three judges (or one referee) who is briefed in depth as to the rules of scoring, as you hope the fighters have been.

    These are the rules. Who wins a fight is really nothing to do with us...although how it might impact a fighter's legacy is in part for us to decide.

    Of course, if there's been a total robbery, it's different, and I might lean more towards my own scoring. But i'm not fond of asterixes in boxing. It is what it is.

    For me it sort of depends on the fight and how close I thought it was. Some I let go and others like Hops - Taylor I or De La Hoya - Mosley II I'll never let go of. JMM - Pac II is probably another one that goes into that category. I feel I'm a good scorer unlike other dumb**** fans so I feel I have a right to hold my grudges and stick to my guns.

    One I let go of easily and go with the official result is De La Hoya - Sturm for example. I was watching that fight with my father who had it a draw in the end while I had Sturm the victor by a 1 point margin. In instances like that the fight is so close or I don't care enough about the fighters involved to hold a grudge.
